03: Seeing People Through Jesus’ Eyes – Teaching Plan
Key Thought: Jesus saw all men and women as winnable for His kingdom. Whether Jew or Gentile, male or female, a thief, Roman soldier, or demon-possessed madman; Jesus viewed them through salvations eyes.

1. Have a volunteer read Mark 8:22-26.
- Ask class members to share a thought on what the most important point in this text is.
- Why do you think Jesus healed the blind man in two steps?
- Personal Application: What lessons does this story have for us as witnesses for Jesus? Share your thoughts.
- Case Study: One of your relatives states: “Do you really think that healing a person mentally or physically will lead them to want to hear the truths of the gospel?” How would you respond to your relative?
Have a volunteer read John 1:40,41, John 6:5-11.
- Ask class members to share a short thought on what the most important point is in this passage.
- What does this tell you about Andrew’s spiritual sight and approach to witnessing?
- Personal Application: Why can it be so difficult at times to lead our family members and relatives to Christ? Share your thoughts.
- Case Study: One of your friends states, “Have you been successful in sharing Jesus with any of your family members or close friends?” How would you respond to your friend?
3. Have a volunteer read Mark 12:28-34.
- Ask class members to share a short thought on what the main idea of this text is.
- Why shouldn’t we be too quick to judge people by outward appearances when presenting the gospel?
- Personal Application: Who are some of the people you come in contact with who don’t know the Lord? What have you done, or are doing, or should do in witnessing to them? Share your thoughts.
- Case Study: One of your neighbors states, “Jesus tells us that the two greatest commandments are love to God and love to men. There are the commandments we are to keep, not the old law of Moses.” How would you respond to your neighbor?
4. Have a volunteer read Acts 8:26-31.
- Ask class members to share a short thought on what the main idea of this text is.
- What does this tell us about being open to God’s leading and being responsive to God’s opportunities?
- Personal Application: How important is the Scriptures and our understanding of them in sharing with others? Share your thoughts.
- Case Study: Think of one person who needs to hear a message from this week’s lesson. Tell the class what you plan to do this week to share with them
