1. Have a volunteer read John 15:26,27. John 16:8.
- Ask class members to share a thought on what the most important point in this text is.
- What do these verses tell us about the Holy Spirit’s role in witnessing?
- Personal Application: In our desire to win souls, why must we always remember that it is not us, but the Holy Spirit, that does the convicting and converting? Share your thoughts.
- Case Study: One of your relatives states: “Have you ever felt fearful about sharing your faith? Can the knowledge of the Holy Spirit reduce that fear?” How would you respond to your relative?
2. Have a volunteer read Acts 2:41,42.
- Ask class members to share a short thought on what the most important point is in this passage.
- What impresses you most about these passages?
- Personal Application: How can we make sure that at the core of all we do in our local church is focused on mission? Share your thoughts.
- Case Study: One of your friends states, “Have you ever been a barrier to your effectiveness in witnessing to others?” How would you respond to your friend?
3. Have a volunteer read Acts 16:6-10, Acts 15:28,29..
- Ask class members to share a short thought on what the main idea of this text is.
- How did the Holy Spirit minister to the disciples in these cases?
- Personal Application: What are the right kinds of choices that will enable Him to work in and through us? Share your thoughts.
- Case Study: One of your neighbors states, “You can’t reach people in this town. It is a small, closed community not opening to trying to change their church affiliations or sharing Bible truth with them.” How would you respond to your neighbor?
4. Have a volunteer read Acts 16:11-15. Acts 17:33,34.
