1. Have a volunteer read Job 26:7-10, Isaiah 40:21,22.
- Ask class members to share a thought on what the most important point in this text is.
- What do these texts tell us about a flat earth?
- Personal Application: What do you understand it to say that God hangs the earth upon nothing? Share your thoughts.
- Case Study: One of your relatives states: “All these people in the Old Testament were like cavemen. They didn’t know anything. We have much more knowledge and understanding of science than they did.” How would you respond to your relative?
2. Have a volunteer read Genesis 1:14-19.
- Ask class members to share a short thought on what the most important point is in this passage.
- What is described on the fourth day and what are their functions?
- Personal Application: Do you believe in supernatural events happening today? Share your thoughts.
- Case Study: One of your friends states, “Why don’t people today believe in the Creation story? Does science prove or disprove a Creation or evolutionary theory?.” How would you respond to your friend?
3. Have a volunteer read Genesis Romans 5:12,14-19.
- Ask class members to share a short thought on what the main idea of this text is.
- How do these verses help us understand Paul believed in the Creation and Fall?
- Personal Application: In what ways do Christ’s physical death and bodily resurrection make all the difference in the world? Share your thoughts.
- Case Study: One of your neighbors states, “What is the importance for us to understand that we were created perfect and that mankind has free choice?” How would you respond to your neighbor?
4. Have a volunteer read Psalm 19:1.
- Ask class members to share a short thought on what the main idea of this text is.
- How do the heavens and the firmament show God’s handiwork and glory?
- Personal Application: What in nature speaks to you that God created? Share your thoughts.
- Case Study: Think of one person who needs to hear a message from this week’s lesson. Tell the class what you plan to do this week to share with them.
