10: Doing the Unthinkable – Singing with Inspiration — 3 Comments

  1. Love this project, uplifting our minds and linking the rich hymns we sing to the many deeply rich themes found in our studies!

I have one request: can we widen our palate to include contemporary songs too (those which are doctrine-sound of course)? This way we can allow more people to connect with this project in their praise/worship. Many have a deeper connection/heritage in gospel and contemporary Christian music than traditional hymns..

Sing onto the Lord a new song 😉

    • Hi Jo

      Thank you for your encouragement.

Sorry, I don't have access to the contemporary songs. There may be others who are able to help in this field.

Blessings to you and your singing praises to our God

  2. Blessings brethren, I must add my quota of gratitude and congratulations to Corrine for this ministry. I have been using her technique for our Sabbath School and it brings life to our meetings. Sometimes I tweak the presentations by singing one verse of the songs to fit as many in as possible. We call it our "lesson study in song" and it is a big hit in our church (Ebenezer SDA in the Cayman Islands). We look forward to that 1st 15 minutes on Sabbath mornings singing our lesson study.

I would add a contemporary song now and again if it fits the particular topic. As a matter of preference, I would choose the older songs (my age I guess), however, as Jo said "Many have a deeper connection/heritage in gospel and contemporary Christian music than traditional hymns. At the end of the day, I think it boils down to the individual Sabbath Schools to fix it so it brings out the best for their particular group.

    Thanks again, Corrine.
