Thursday: Let Us Be Grateful

Sabbath School Net Posted on March 16, 2022 by Sabbath School LessonMarch 6, 2022avatar
Worship in Heaven

Hebrews concludes this section by pointing out that the appropriate response to God for all the wonderful things He has done for us is to show gratitude by offering Him an appropriate type of worship. Compare Hebrews 12:28 and Hebrews 13:15-16. How do we offer God acceptable worship? In the old covenant system, the sacrifice of animals was … Continue reading –>

Wednesday: An Unshakeable Kingdom

Sabbath School Net Posted on March 15, 2022 by Sabbath School LessonMarch 6, 2022avatar
Heavenly Realms

God has announced that He will “shake” the heavens and the earth, which means that He will destroy enemy nations. There are some things, however, that will not be shaken, that will not be destroyed. Compare Psalm 15:5, Psalm 16:8, Psalm 21:7, Psalm 62:2, Psalm 112:6, and Hebrews 12:27. What are the things that will not be shaken? Many modern translations … Continue reading –>

Tuesday: Shake the Heavens and the Earth

Sabbath School Net Posted on March 14, 2022 by Sabbath School LessonMarch 6, 2022avatar
Second Coming

After describing the festal gathering occurring in heaven, Paul warns the readers that they need to pay attention to God’s voice because God will shake “yet once more … not only the earth but also the heavens” (Hebrews 12:26, ESV). Paul is saying that although Jesus has been enthroned in heaven, our salvation has not been … Continue reading –>

12: Receiving an Unshakable Kingdom – Teaching Plan

Sabbath School Net Posted on March 14, 2022 by Michael FrackerMarch 14, 2022Michael Fracker

Key Thought: Paul uses imagery from Daniel to remind readers that Jesus has received a kingdom and is going to share His kingdom with believers. March 19, 2022 1. Have a volunteer read Hebrews 12:22-24, Daniel 7:13,14. Ask class members to share a short thought on what the most important point is in this passage. … Continue reading –>

12: Receiving an Unshakable Kingdom – Singing With Inspiration

Sabbath School Net Posted on March 14, 2022 by Corinne KnopperMarch 14, 2022avatar

The titles of the thirteen Sabbaths of study this quarter give us two hymns to use as the themes: Hymn 593 – In Times Like These and  Hymn 177 – Jesus, Your Blood and Righteousness. Sabbath afternoon is helping us to conclude our study on Hebrews with “the last and climactic exhortation: God’s judgment” as in  … Continue reading –>

Monday: You Have Come to God, the Judge of All

Sabbath School Net Posted on March 13, 2022 by Sabbath School LessonMarch 6, 2022avatar
Glorious 2nd Advent

Read Hebrews 12:23. If this is a celebration, why is God described as a judge? How can a judge be part of or a reason for a celebration? Read also Daniel 7:9-10, Daniel 7:13-22. The celebration described in Hebrews 12:22-24 alludes to a future judgment. God, the judge, presides, and books are used, and the result of this future … Continue reading –>

Sunday: You Have Come to Mount Zion

Sabbath School Net Posted on March 12, 2022 by Sabbath School LessonMarch 6, 2022avatar
Angel with an Open Book

Read Hebrews 12:22-24. What does Paul describe here? Hebrews affirms that we have come to Mount Zion and participate in a great celebration. “But you have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to innumerable angels in festal gathering” (Hebrews 12:22, ESV). We have come through faith in … Continue reading –>

Inside Story: Worshiping Like Jesus

Sabbath School Net Posted on March 10, 2022 by Sabbath School LessonFebruary 23, 2022avatar
Koy Sapoon

Worshiping Like Jesus By Andrew McChesney Three years ago, the Thirteenth Sabbath Offering helped establish a community center to reach people in Cambodia. But the community center, an “urban center of influence,” reached its first person before it even opened. Koy Sopaon heard that construction work had started on the Essential Life Center and that … Continue reading –>

At a camp meeting 40 years later, I happened to see Dr. I. demonstrating some kind of health product, if I remember correctly. (In my mind, I see only the image of him, much older, but still looking much like he did when I was a student, with a friend by my side.) I lingered a little but did not introduce myself. I briefly wondered whether he recognized me. I’m fairly sure that I was as recognizable to him as he was to me.

Had he changed? Or did he still feel superior in his “humility”? Should I talk to him? I didn’t know how to approach him, and was busy with friends. I still don’t know whether I should have said something. (Maybe I’m just a coward.)

If God wants him to see my story, his and my identity are clear enough in this post, that God can direct him to it.
