3: Old Tetament Prophets — Singing with Inspiration

Sabbath School Net Posted on by avatar

The gift of prophecy has been given to many who were then able to write God’s words for us in the Bible.
God Has Spoken By His Prophets – Hymn 413 for us all to listen and learn. May you enjoy this hymn as the theme hymn for this quarter.

Sunday showed us that Elijah was so human and very depressed with what had happened. He did endure and prayed, just as we are able to pray:
At First I Prayed For Light – Hymn 488.

“Micaiah presented God’s truth, regardless of how it might be received” and we can go forward and say clearly
This Is The Threefold Truth – Hymn 203 (Monday).

“Prophets were expected not only to pass on faithfully the messages God gave them but were sometimes instructed to write them down and preserve them” (Tuesday). Here we are able to encourage all
O Brother, Be Faithful – Hymn 602 and clearly request
Give Me The Bible – Hymn 272 so that we will always
Trust And Obey – Hymn 590.

Friday encourages us to be “willing to serve Him” as does verse 5 of
Hymn 291 – We Have Not Known Thee As We Ought.

May God bless you as you choose from the hymns being shared this week.
Please continue to search the scriptures this week to be blessed, and to bless others.

To learn unknown hymns, you will find the accompaniment music for each one at: https://sdahymnals.com/Hymnal/

Another great resource is for when there is a hymn you wish to sing but can’t find it in your hymnal. Go to https://www.sdahymnal.org/Search and in the search bar type a special word in that is in the hymn. I am sure you will be amazed at the help you will be given.

2 Timothy 2:15 KJV – “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”

She has also combined her music skills with computing to produce brass band and orchestral scores. At a camp meeting 40 years later, I happened to see Dr. I. demonstrating some kind of health product, if I remember correctly. (In my mind, I see only the image of him, much older, but still looking much like he did when I was a student, with a friend by my side.) I lingered a little but did not introduce myself. I briefly wondered whether he recognized me. I’m fairly sure that I was as recognizable to him as he was to me.

Had he changed? Or did he still feel superior in his “humility”? Should I talk to him? I didn’t know how to approach him, and was busy with friends. I still don’t know whether I should have said something. (Maybe I’m just a coward.)

If God wants him to see my story, his and my identity are clear enough in this post, that God can direct him to it.
