  1. Please, could you explain why it is that we refer to the events of Revelation chapter 14 as Christ’s second coming, during this study, whereas Ellen White tells us it is the Lord coming to his Temple, and the work of purification of the church, and

“This coming, and the coming of the Lord to his temple, are distinct and separate events.” The Great Controversy, 1888 edition, page 425, paragraph 3

To add to that, if Revelation 14 is Christ’s second coming, what would be the need of the other angel of Revelation 18, after the 3 angels’ messages of Revelation 14?

    • Hi, Elbert. Thank you for your question. The coming of the Lord to His temple is depicted in Malachi 3:1 and in Daniel 7. Seventh-day Adventists teach, based on Daniel 8, Daniel 9, and Ezra 7, that this took place in the year 1844. By my reading, the events of Revelation 14 are about the Lord coming out of His temple to “reap… the harvest of the earth.” To my mind, this is the same event that is depicted in Revelation 22:12 (NKJV).

“And behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give to every one according to his work.”

      I hope this helps.

At a camp meeting 40 years later, I happened to see Dr. I. demonstrating some kind of health product, if I remember correctly. (In my mind, I see only the image of him, much older, but still looking much like he did when I was a student, with a friend by my side.) I lingered a little but did not introduce myself. I briefly wondered whether he recognized me. I’m fairly sure that I was as recognizable to him as he was to me.

Had he changed? Or did he still feel superior in his “humility”? Should I talk to him? I didn’t know how to approach him, and was busy with friends. I still don’t know whether I should have said something. (Maybe I’m just a coward.)

If God wants him to see my story, his and my identity are clear enough in this post, that God can direct him to it.
