A. Have a volunteer read Ephesians 6:12, Mark 13:7, Eccl 9:5.
- Ask class members to share a thought on what the most important point in this text is.
- What do these texts tell us about the reality we live in?
- Personal Application: What is a teaching that people hold that contradicts the teaching of the Bible? Share your thoughts.
- Case Study: One of your relatives states: “What kinds of education historically were very destructive and based on human thinking instead of Godly guidance?” How would you respond to your relative?
B. Have a volunteer read John 1:1-14..
- Ask class members to share a short thought on what the most important point is in this passage.
- What does this tell us about who Jesus is?
- Personal Application: How does it make you feel to realize that the One who died for us on the cross was the same One who created us? Share your thoughts.
- Case Study: One of your friends states, “Why is the Christian belief in the Deity of Christ and the teaching of the Bible so rejected and opposed by most of the world?” How would you respond to your friend?
C. Have a volunteer read Mark 12:29-31. Deuteronomy 6:5..
- Ask class members to share a short thought on what the main idea of this text is.
- What does this teach us about moral conduct?
- Personal Application: How do we love our neighbors as ourselves? What challenges do we face in obeying this commandment? Share your thoughts.
- Case Study: One of your neighbors states, “How can we love God completely when we’ve never seen Him or spoken with Him? Without interaction how are we supposed to know Him enough to love Him with our soul, heart, and mind?” How would you respond to your neighbor?
D. Have a volunteer read Luke 1:26-35.
- Ask class members to share a short thought on what the main idea of this text is.
- How hard is it for the world to believe in the virgin birth and the incarnation of God as a man?
- Personal Application: What views do people hold about who man is and how do they differ from the self-worth crowd? Share your thoughts.
- Case Study: Think of one person who needs to hear a message from this week’s lesson. Tell the class what you plan to do this week to share with them.
