Called to Be Kingdom Builders — 4 Comments

  1. Yes I agree that we are kingdom builders but as reality we are in another wolrd which is very different from that one we prepare to enter, what I recomend is this:we are bearer of light ,so let our lights shine to others to accomplish Jesus' mission.

  2. Emmanuel you have touch on similar thoughts that I have. We are surrounded by this worlds environment and there is no comparison to the Heavenly Kingdom in any way. I received in some change the other day, two brand new 2015 shiny pennies. I looked at them and as I thought about what was inscribed on them it made me think how worthless a penny has become. There used be a term called a lucky penny, when we found one laying in our path. Many will not even bother to pick one up now. What struck me was that the inscription on the penny was basically a lie. It said on one side " United State of America", that was not the lie. What is a lie is what is on the other side. "In GOD We Trust". In a nation that our scientific community along with the institutions of higher learning disbelieve in creation of this world and all that is in it,there is no trust in God or anything pertaining to Him. When you consider all of the, lying, cheating. stealing, murder, sexual immorality, hatred, selfishness, and the list goes on, our longing for the new earth and ,The Kingdom of God, become a reality that we urgently look forward to, and hope for. I hate to say it but, that is my two cents worth.

  3. Praise the good Lord for the wonderful word. Surely it is a calling to be Kingdom builders. I quote the following from Lesson 11:
"Those who have experienced the kingdom of grace must wait, watch, and pray for the kingdom of glory. Between the one and the other, between the already and the not yet, the believers are to be occupied with ministry and mission, with living and hoping, with nurture and witness. The anticipation of the Second Coming demands the sanctification of our lives now and here." (Wed June 10, 2015)

One thing I have of late learnt is that we can never grow to the full stature of men and women in Christ unless we take up the duty of witnessing for Christ, hence labour as kingdom builders. "God could have reached His object in saving sinners without our aid; but in order for us to develop a character like Christ’s, we must share in His work. In order to enter into His joy,—the joy of seeing souls redeemed by His sacrifice,—we must participate in His labors for their redemption.--The Desire of Ages 41.2.

May God help us understand our duty and take up our position, for time is almost up. MARANATHA!!

  4. What did Jesus mean when He told a lawyer "You are not far from the kingdom of God"? The lawyer recognized and acknowledged the greatest commandment of God's kingdom: Supreme love for God and selfless love for one another. This commandment to love God with all our heart, soul, mind and strength, and our neighbor as ourselves, is the core of God's kingdom, the foundation of his sovereign rule and authority.

Many of us, like the lawyer, are "not far" from God's kingdom because we at least recognize and acknowledge the basic principle of his kingdom - love. But like the lawyer, we need to take core kingdom principles and make them our core practice. Those principles are not natural to us. In fact, they are antithetical to our sinful, fallen natures. We need God's abundant grace to rebuild us from our weak, sinful core to a new identity, new motivations and a new mind imbued with the kingdom-mind of Christ Jesus!
