8: The Jerusalem Council – Singing with Inspiration

Sabbath School Net Posted on August 20, 2018 by Corinne KnopperAugust 20, 2018avatar

The memory text for this week brings our first hymn to mind:  Hymn 511, “I Know Whom I Have Believed”. With the troubles in the new church in Jerusalem in the study on both Sunday and Monday, the people did not see that: “Jesus Paid It All” – Hymn 184 and that He was our salvation:  … Continue reading –>

7: Paul’s First Missionary Journey – Singing with Inspiration

Sabbath School Net Posted on August 11, 2018 by Corinne KnopperAugust 20, 2018avatar

The introduction to this week’s lesson brings immediately to us: Hymn 378, “Go, Preach My Gospel” to the Gentiles as well as the Jews. The Gentiles founded their first church in Antioch:  Hymn 348, “The Church Has One Foundation”. The missionaries had the laying on of hands as an act of consecration on Sunday:  Hymn 330, … Continue reading –>

6: The Ministry of Peter – Singing with Inspiration

Sabbath School Net Posted on August 6, 2018 by Corinne KnopperAugust 6, 2018avatar

Peter now takes over the preaching of the gospel in this week’s lesson study:  Hymn 378, “Go, Preach My Gospel”. He was asking the people to listen to the voice of Jesus:   Hymn 359, “Hark! The Voice of Jesus Calling”. Hymn 111, “It Took a Miracle” can reflect the study of Sunday with Tabitha’s resurrection and … Continue reading –>

5: The Conversion of Paul – Singing with Inspiration

Sabbath School Net Posted on July 30, 2018 by Corinne KnopperJuly 30, 2018avatar

Our theme of:  Hymn 378, “Go, Preach My Gospel” is in our memory verse this week as is proclaiming the Name in: Hymn 411, “The Son of God Proclaim”. God’s grace to Paul had not been in vain:  Hymn 109, “Marvelous Grace”. On Sunday we find Saul/Paul is shaliah – “one who is sent”, first by the Sanhedrin, … Continue reading –>

4: The First Church Leaders – Singing with Inspiration

Sabbath School Net Posted on July 23, 2018 by Corinne KnopperJuly 23, 2018avatar

Our theme of: Hymn 378, “Go, Preach My Gospel” commences the study this week as many Hellenistic believers went about “bearing witness to the entire world”.  Hymn 346, “Lord, Who Dost Give to Thy Church” is what was requested by the early church believers for all who were involved in spreading the gospel. We may also sing:  … Continue reading –>

3: The Early Church – Singing with Inspiration

Sabbath School Net Posted on July 16, 2018 by Corinne KnopperJuly 16, 2018avatar

This week we commence with seeing just how the home of each Christian is important in sharing, and in spreading the love of Jesus: Hymn 651, “Happy the Home That Welcomes You”, Hymn 655, “Happy the Home” and Hymn 654, “Lord, Bless Our Homes”. Sunday gives us another view of Acts in fellowship: Hymn 469, … Continue reading –>

2: Pentecost – Singing with Inspiration

Sabbath School Net Posted on July 10, 2018 by Corinne KnopperJuly 11, 2018avatar

My apologies that the hymns are late for this week. Sunday – The Holy Spirit descended to the brand new church and so we ask for that now:  Hymn 269, “Come, Holy Spirit” and  Hymn 268, “Holy Spirit, Light Divine”. Monday –  Hymn 250, “O for a Thousand Tongues to Sing” and  Hymn 81, “Though I Speak … Continue reading –>

Lesson 1: You Will Be My Witnesses – Singing with Inspiration

Sabbath School Net Posted on July 2, 2018 by Corinne KnopperJuly 3, 2018avatar

Welcome to the Third Quarter Lesson studies for 2018. “You will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you….” says our Memory Text:  Hymn 269 – “Come, Holy Spirit”. Then the disciples left everything to follow Him:  Hymn 623, “I Will Follow Thee, my Savior”. Sunday’s lesson raises three important points: Jesus suffered … Continue reading –>

Sabbath School Net Posted on June 25, 2018 by Corinne KnopperJune 29, 2018avatar

The Bible verse that has been used for this quarter’s theme for Singing with Inspiration is this week’s memory text:  Matthew 24:27 – “For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be” along with the hymn theme that has been … Continue reading –>

Lesson 12: Babylon and Armageddon – Singing with Inspiration

Sabbath School Net Posted on June 18, 2018 by Corinne KnopperJune 18, 2018avatar

Our singing this week commences with a hymn of the desire to be the opposite person to the woman in our memory text. If you have the privilege of possessing the SDA Hymnal prior to 1985, you could sing: Hymn 617, “Lord, I Care Not for Riches…..Is my name written there, On the page white … Continue reading –>

At a camp meeting 40 years later, I happened to see Dr. I. demonstrating some kind of health product, if I remember correctly. (In my mind, I see only the image of him, much older, but still looking much like he did when I was a student, with a friend by my side.) I lingered a little but did not introduce myself. I briefly wondered whether he recognized me. I’m fairly sure that I was as recognizable to him as he was to me.

Had he changed? Or did he still feel superior in his “humility”? Should I talk to him? I didn’t know how to approach him, and was busy with friends. I still don’t know whether I should have said something. (Maybe I’m just a coward.)

If God wants him to see my story, his and my identity are clear enough in this post, that God can direct him to it.
