Thursday: Learning Through Success

Sabbath School Net Posted on May 23, 2012 by Sabbath School LessonMay 27, 2015avatar
Two People Lost in a Maze Being Shown the Way Out

There are two areas in which we can learn through success. There is the area that can be called practical/procedural and the area that can be called spiritual cooperation. Although it can be rightly argued that there is a spiritual aspect to both areas, we will deal with them separately in order to better highlight … Continue reading –>

Wednesday: Learning Through Failure

Sabbath School Net Posted on May 22, 2012 by Sabbath School LessonMay 27, 2015avatar

Sometimes we may fail to reach all of the goals that have been set for a particular evangelism activity. Does this mean that we have totally failed? Of course not. Regardless of the strategy we employ in our search to win the lost, we will have both successes and failures. We may even set the … Continue reading –>

Tuesday: Learning by Doing

Sabbath School Net Posted on May 21, 2012 by Sabbath School LessonMay 27, 2015avatar

No matter how many books a person reads about his or her favorite sport, and no matter how many games are watched, if someone wants to be a player they have to put their boots on and get out on the field. We call it hands-on experience, learning by doing, and without it a person … Continue reading –>

Monday: Learning by Observing

Sabbath School Net Posted on May 20, 2012 by Sabbath School LessonMay 27, 2015avatar

There are two aspects to learning for those who wish to serve the Lord, and one leads to the other. First there is learning to know Jesus; then comes learning how to share Him and what He offers to the whole fallen human race. Read about the time Jesus fed the 5,000 (Matt. 14:13–21, Mark 6:30–44, Luke 9:10–17, John … Continue reading –>

Sunday: The Need for Training

Sabbath School Net Posted on May 19, 2012 by Sabbath School LessonMay 27, 2015avatar

In Matthew 9:37 Jesus told the disciples that the harvest was plentiful but the laborers few. Today the harvest is infinitely larger and the laborers are still relatively few. There is a great need to send out harvest workers who are thoroughly trained and equipped. While it ever remains true that the Holy Spirit’s influence is the … Continue reading –>

Sabbath: Equipping for Evangelism and Witnessing

Sabbath School Net Posted on May 18, 2012 by Sabbath School LessonMay 27, 2015avatar

Read for This Week’s Study: Matt. 4:19, 11:1–11, 10:1–14, 1 Pet. 5:8, 2 Pet. 3:9. Memory Text: “Then He said to them, ‘Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men’ ” (Matthew 4:19, NKJV). Key Thought: Whatever the important proper training, we must first be grounded in our relationship with Jesus before we can be “properly equipped” to … Continue reading –>

Further Study: Corporate Evangelism and Witnessing

Sabbath School Net Posted on May 17, 2012 by Sabbath School LessonMay 27, 2015avatar

Setting Realistic Evangelism Goals Both as a church and as a smaller ministry team, we must make sure that any witnessing and evangelistic goals are realistic. The following are some key areas to consider. Affordable. Finances play a big part in many church strategies today. Consider the costs of advertising, transportation, resources, postage, venue hire, refreshments, … Continue reading –>

Inside Story: God’s Patient Pursuit, Part 1

Sabbath School Net Posted on May 17, 2012 by Sabbath School LessonApril 11, 2015avatar

I grew up in a non-Christian family in India. I attended a Christian boarding school and lived a highly regimented life. So I wasn’t ready for the freedom I found when I moved to Australia at age 16 to study. Many of the young people at school smoked and drank. I wasn’t interested in these … Continue reading –>

Thursday: The Need for Corporate Unity

Sabbath School Net Posted on May 16, 2012 by Sabbath School LessonMay 27, 2015avatar

It has been well said that a Christianity that does not begin with the individual does not begin, but a Christianity that ends with the individual ends. This statement underscores the importance of every new believer being incorporated into the body of believers. As with witnessing and evangelism, it is also true that incorporation cannot … Continue reading –>

Wednesday: Every Part Does Its Share

Sabbath School Net Posted on May 15, 2012 by Sabbath School LessonMay 27, 2015avatar

When a unified church is focused upon the evangelistic task at hand, the Lord will bless their combined efforts. A careful study of the Bible will reveal how much of the New Testament was written to show Christians how to live and work together in harmony. “One another” passages are scattered thickly throughout its pages. … Continue reading –>

At a camp meeting 40 years later, I happened to see Dr. I. demonstrating some kind of health product, if I remember correctly. (In my mind, I see only the image of him, much older, but still looking much like he did when I was a student, with a friend by my side.) I lingered a little but did not introduce myself. I briefly wondered whether he recognized me. I’m fairly sure that I was as recognizable to him as he was to me.

Had he changed? Or did he still feel superior in his “humility”? Should I talk to him? I didn’t know how to approach him, and was busy with friends. I still don’t know whether I should have said something. (Maybe I’m just a coward.)

If God wants him to see my story, his and my identity are clear enough in this post, that God can direct him to it.
