Sabbath School Net Posted on August 9, 2020 by Michael FrackerAugust 24, 2020Michael Fracker

Key Thought: When we share the Word of God, our primary goal is not to prove that we are right and the other person is wrong; it is to reveal Jesus in each facet of the truth we share. August 15, 2020 1. Have a volunteer read Hebrews 1:1-3; Psalm 33:6-9. Ask class members to … Continue reading –>

Friday: Further Thought ~ Unlimited Possibilities

Spectacles on Bible

Further Thought: Read Ellen G. White, “Talents”, pages 325-365, in Christ’s Object Lessons. The correct understanding of the biblical teaching of spiritual gifts brings unity to the church. The recognition that each one of us is valuable and a needed member of the body of Christ is a unifying thought. Every member of the church is necessary … Continue reading –>

Equal Gifts But Not the Same Gifts

Sabbath School Net Posted on August 5, 2020 by William EarnhardtAugust 13, 2020avatar

We were in our last couple nights of evangelism meetings when a water pipe burst, flooding a room behind the sanctuary, near the baptistry entrance. One of the deacons told a local elder to help the other deacons pump the water out. The elder politely replied that he could not do that, because he had … Continue reading –>

Read the parable of the talents in Matthew 25:14-30. What is the most significant thought that stands out to you in this story? Why were the first two servants commended by God and the last servant condemned? What does this parable tell us about the use of our talents? Particularly notice Matthew 25:29. The master gave to each … Continue reading –>

06: Unlimited Possibilities – Discussion Starters

Sabbath School Net Posted on August 3, 2020 by Joyce GriffithAugust 3, 2020Joyce Griffith

(The following topics are presented to encourage group discussion and individual exploration of this week’s theme.) Differing gifts: united in service. Our lesson reminds us that the disciples were not identical replicas of one nature but were diversified, different, special people with individual gifts and challenges. Should we be that diversified today? Should we strive … Continue reading –>

At a camp meeting 40 years later, I happened to see Dr. I. demonstrating some kind of health product, if I remember correctly. (In my mind, I see only the image of him, much older, but still looking much like he did when I was a student, with a friend by my side.) I lingered a little but did not introduce myself. I briefly wondered whether he recognized me. I’m fairly sure that I was as recognizable to him as he was to me.

Had he changed? Or did he still feel superior in his “humility”? Should I talk to him? I didn’t know how to approach him, and was busy with friends. I still don’t know whether I should have said something. (Maybe I’m just a coward.)

If God wants him to see my story, his and my identity are clear enough in this post, that God can direct him to it.
