#2 Daniel and the End Time – Discussion Starters

Sabbath School Net Posted on April 11, 2018 by Joyce GriffithApril 11, 2018Joyce Griffith

Faithful in what is least. The statement of Daniel and the “worthies” taken captive by Babylon revealed an honest and wholehearted trait of these young men. What was it? Do you think the good results in reasoning and intelligence came directly from a good diet–or were they a miracle God sent to bless them? Or … Continue reading –>

Singing with Inspiration – Lesson 2: Daniel and the End Time

Sabbath School Net Posted on April 11, 2018 by Corinne KnopperApril 11, 2018avatar

What a joy it was to sing from the pre-1985 hymnal “Standing by a Purpose True (number 497) this last week. Our whole congregation was excited to sing it!! Opening our lesson study for this week immediately suggests to have this hymn sung again: the title, and the Memory Text stated this. It is sad … Continue reading –>

1: The Cosmic Controversy – Discussion Starters

Sabbath School Net Posted on April 2, 2018 by Joyce GriffithApril 2, 2018Joyce Griffith

Hold on! Let’s Go! “The Cosmic Controversy” is the title for our lessons for the second quarter this year. Have you ever wondered how the controversy really got started? Since you and I weren’t around back then and since our world seems inexorably buried in war, confusion, and evil, is it helpful for us to know how … Continue reading –>

Sabbath School Net Posted on March 27, 2018 by Corinne KnopperMarch 27, 2018avatar

The quarter comes to a close showing us the results of our stewardship. All our studies culminate in pointing us to:  Hymn 214, “We Have This Hope”. Sunday’s study teaches us to be like Christ: Hymn 311, “I Would Be Like Jesus” and Hymn 492 “Like Jesus”. Are we content as in: Hymn 303, “Beneath the Cross … Continue reading –>

#13 The Results of Stewardship Discussion starters by J Griffith

Sabbath School Net Posted on March 27, 2018 by Joyce GriffithMarch 27, 2018Joyce Griffith

The benefits of stewardship. You wouldn’t expect to study and pray with Bible-based instruction on the topic of stewardship without a reward, would you? We begin this final week with an amazing promise delivered by the apostle Peter about the reward other people may receive when they see us living as we do. What is that … Continue reading –>

At a camp meeting 40 years later, I happened to see Dr. I. demonstrating some kind of health product, if I remember correctly. (In my mind, I see only the image of him, much older, but still looking much like he did when I was a student, with a friend by my side.) I lingered a little but did not introduce myself. I briefly wondered whether he recognized me. I’m fairly sure that I was as recognizable to him as he was to me.

Had he changed? Or did he still feel superior in his “humility”? Should I talk to him? I didn’t know how to approach him, and was busy with friends. I still don’t know whether I should have said something. (Maybe I’m just a coward.)

If God wants him to see my story, his and my identity are clear enough in this post, that God can direct him to it.
