The Curse Causeless? – Hit the Mark — 10 Comments

  1. Curtis, I think that sometimes we can wield the "sword of the Spirit" unskillfully, and end up doing ourselves an injury. But in my opinion you have wielded that sword well. Sometimes we can employ "weapons" in our spiritual fight, and be oblivious to the fact that an enemy has taken our weapon from us and turned it against us. In a serious fight we need to be proficient with whatever weapon we present in the conflict. In my estimation this is what you have done.
    _______

“Ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness.” Galatians 6:1. I very much appreciate this Scripture. If someone is overtaken in a [perceived] fault, it is not our duty to restore them "to" a meek spirit, but rather, we are to restore them in [i.e. with] the spirit of meekness. We need not approach a perceived offender in a superior manner, but we are to go as a lesser mortal, who bears a deep concern for them and for their influence.

    • I think that Eliphaz and his two companions tried to restore Job "to" a meek condition, rather than trying to restore him "in", or with, a meek manner/spirit.

    • Thanks for those kind words Stewart. I always appreciate your input. I like the added emphasis you have given on us operating in the spirit of meekness. Right on target!
      Thanks!

    • This lesson touched me as a teacher to be more cautious in how I deal with my troublesome students. Speaking to them in love always.

  2. Thank Curtis,I've been reading 1Cor. 13 trying to learn how to love more than teach. God continue to bless you and your ministry.

  3. Thanks very much for the great comments & lessons taught Curtis, that I totally agree with. I myself have, at times spoken foolishly, the right words but without the spirit meekness. Many thanks also to Stewart's usual great words of wisdom and incite; they're very much appreciated. May God continue to empower us to allow Him to work in and through us; for His glory. Amen

    • Angela, we have all spoken foolishly in the past and on occasion still do. Thanks be to God that He has given us a high target to aim for. Let's keep aiming high in all that we do including our words. Thanks!

  4. Thanks Curtis Hall,

Today you made the discussion of this lesson be strong by the reasonable argument you put in through your post,You open our mind and knowledge of understanding.

Off course Elphaz and his friend they are like us when we talk with our friend in the condition like this.
