Evangelism and Thessalonica — 4 Comments

  1. This modernized parable is a great example of how we have to be flexible and versatile in our witnessing. We will never encounter the perfect situation or atmosphere, but that is no excuse for us not to press on and minister to people that would like to know more about the gospel.

  2. it is our call all of us to witness as the scriptures say go ye therefore and preach the gospel to all the nations.

  3. Witnessing is for all of us. We cannot witness until we lived and experienced that power that He gave us. It is the power of the Holy Spirit that enables us to witness and evagelize. Let us accept, receive and give what we have.

At a camp meeting 40 years later, I happened to see Dr. I. demonstrating some kind of health product, if I remember correctly. (In my mind, I see only the image of him, much older, but still looking much like he did when I was a student, with a friend by my side.) I lingered a little but did not introduce myself. I briefly wondered whether he recognized me. I’m fairly sure that I was as recognizable to him as he was to me.

Had he changed? Or did he still feel superior in his “humility”? Should I talk to him? I didn’t know how to approach him, and was busy with friends. I still don’t know whether I should have said something. (Maybe I’m just a coward.)

If God wants him to see my story, his and my identity are clear enough in this post, that God can direct him to it.
