08: The Humility of Heavenly Wisdom – Lesson Plan
Key Thought : It is the love of self that brings unrest. We need the same mind of Jesus that humbled Himself that we might be saved.
[Lesson Plan for The Humility of Heavenly Wisdom October 17. 2014]

b. What is the Bible definition of worldly wisdom here? How is Godly wisdom different?
c. Personal Application: How can we “show” our works with meekness? Even in Christian circles, can people “brag” about their Christian deeds? What is the difference between bragging and relating an experience? Share your thoughts.
d. Case Study: One of your relatives states: “Good guys finish last. In order to get ahead, you have to promote yourself, and at times, reveal the flaws in your competition – whether in political, business, or social circles.” How would you respond to your relative?

d. Case Study: One of your friends states, “My preacher says that God wants us to prosper and be in good health. It’s not wrong to want money, fame, or a good life. If we ask God, He’ll give it to us.” Do you tend to agree or disagree with your friend?
4. Have a volunteer read James 4:7-10.

Personal Application: What does being double-minded mean? How do we overcome this double-mindedness? Share your thoughts.
b. Case Study: Think of one person who needs to hear a message from this week’s lesson. Tell the class what you plan to do this week to share with them.
