Inside Story: Heidy’s Hope, Part 2 — 13 Comments

  1. Thank God for giving us Jesus to die for our sins, with Jesus we are already a victor.
Praise The Lord satan is already defeated at the cross.

  2. This story is a good example of how, if we resist the devil, he has no other choice but to leave us alone. He flees... THIS IS GOOD NEWS!
Thank you JESUS! For always coming to our rescue when we call on you for help.

    • This story also underscores that some of our family, friends or neighbors are so lost, so entangled in Satan's trap that their only hope is our prayers for God to intervene. It reminds me of Luke 5:17-20.

    • Clarine, what you said ("resist the devil") made me think of something I have learned about how to "resist the devil." I have learned that "Jesus" is not a magic word, but this word does represent the greatest power, not for our use, but it/He is a power to turn us around and move us in the opposite direction from our natural motivation.

If we are going in the direction of Satan (selfishly motivated), we are not producing any resistance to Satan because we are going with him. This is what was happening to the girl possessed by the demon. When the girl and her friends decided to let Jesus turn her around, He did. Now she was resisting the devil because she was walking the opposite direction to him--opposing him. In this condition/direction she was able to be free from the devil because she was traveling in the direction motivated by God's Love rather that by selfishness. The act of baptism will not totally free her from selfishness, but it can be a point at which she must make a choice for Jesus.

Of course she can be tempted to go back to the motivation of selfishness and allow the demon back with others. In order to stop this from happening she must watch and pray always that she stay with the motivation of God's Spirit of Love or she can easily be taken captive again if selfishness (which is natural to her) should become her motivation again.

She may fall several times, but if she will choose God's Spirit of Love to motivate her, she can have the perfect life of Jesus as her own.

We have the exact same possibilities as this girl and our success all depends on the Love of God and our choice to accept this Love as our basic motivation.

Thank you for this encouraging story!

    • The church is God's spiritual hospital for souls.
We are all at different stages in our walk with the LORD.
So it is possible that some who come to church are still struggling with evil spirits. Just remember "coming to church" will not solve anything only submitting our lives will cause us to overcome.

  3. This story reminds us that the Bible is true and the struggle for our souls is real. This is a call not be complacent but to always abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I always say I am going to stay on the side of the most powerful being. The enemy fools many to believe that he is more powerful but here is another evidence to refute his claim.

I would not want to serve a god who another God can defeat. When the devil assails us we can call on God for sure help. But if we surrender to the enemy and God decides to act against us ,none can deliver us out of His hands. Aren't you confident about your safety and hope of salvation with our awesome ,great ,omnipotent God? We should be.

  4. The story only proved that Satan would like to block those who decided to follow Jesus through baptism. So, in deciding to accept Jesus, no one could hinder; more so if the one who would accept really ignore temptation.

  6. "When I walk through the 'Valley of the Shadow of Death', I will fear no evil, for Thou art with me."
I will walk through the Valley of the Shadow of Death, only after "He restores my soul and He leads me in the paths of righteousness", for the way Home means that I will walk through some serious enemy territory once I surrender. God does not do the walking for me; but when I am turned around by Him, and the devil sets his traps of death, God walks beside me.
    Great story Brother/Pastor Solis.

    • What an awesome story! God is Great! No other force in this world is greater than Him. He is all Powerful. What a message for all Christians. God has the power to free us all from evil once we call on him in faith and live and walk according to his commands. He is a General who has never lost a battle. If we keep his as our General he will not let us lose our battle once you trust and believe in Him. We serve a mighty God.

  7. God is always supportive to us, and we just need time to aknowladge to understand his Role in our lives for us to fully accept and aprecciate his everlasting love. And danger lay that we don't have assurance of much time we have, before its too late for heaven entrance, for hell await. And be careful with the spirit holding u. Beware because time is something we lack control of so take good control of your mind and your soul for thats what u control-say no to evil
