Keeping the Sabbath in Light of the Cross — 4 Comments

  1. Thank you so much for this lesson. It just blew me away when you laid down the principle that the Sabbath is about God's grace. I was doing some study on the Sabbath, and the Holy Spirit said to go see what William has to say. I didn't expect this, and I am so thankful. Keep up the good work, Pastor, and I will put you on my prayer list for God to continue to bless your efforts. I plan on sharing this in my Sabbath school class this weekend.

  2. You had me when you reminded me that Sabbath was made for man (Mark 2:27). Why would I not want what God has made for me?

However, it is the next verse that I struggle with. My pre-Adventist friends would use Mark 2:28 to _justify_ the argument that
    (a) the Sabbath was changed after the resurrection.

Jesus could do that, due to
    (b) Him being the Lord of the Sabbath

I realize that using (b) to support (a) is a fallacy because this line of argument assumes (a) is correct to begin with, whereas my friends offer no proof of (a).
    Nevertheless, I still struggle.
