No Condemnation – Teaching Plan
Key Thought: Christ made victory over sin possible for those who believe, not as a means of salvation, but as its result.
1. Have a volunteer read Romans 8:1.

a. Ask class members to share a thought on what the most important point in this text is.
b. What does it mean there is no condemnation?
c. Personal Application : Have you experienced the freedom from the slavery to sin that is promised here? Share your thoughts.
d. Case Study : One of your relatives states: “Since I have accepted Christ, I am no longer under the law or its condemnation. I am free from the law of sin and death. So a believer who has been saved is forever saved.” How would you respond to your relative?
2. Have a volunteer read Romans 8:2-4.
a. Ask class members to share a short thought on what the most important point is in this passage.
b. What did Christ do that the law by nature couldn’t do?
c. Personal Application : How well are you keeping God’s law? Is your life one in which the righteousness of the law is fulfilled? Share your thoughts.
d. Case Study : One of your friends states, “What does it mean to walk after the Spirit and not after the flesh?” How would you respond to your friend?
3. Have a volunteer read Romans 8:7,8.
a. Ask class members to share a short thought on what the main idea of this text is.
b. Why can’t the carnal mind keep the law of God? And why does it say the carnal mind isn’t subject to God’s law?
c. Personal Application: When have you seen someone living according to the Spirit in a concrete way? Share your thoughts.
d. Case Study: One of your neighbors states, “What does it mean that the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us?” How would you respond to your neighbor?
