Sabbath: The Promised Revival: God’s Mission Completed
Read for This Week’s Study: Matt. 28:18-20; James 5:7, 8; Zech. 10:1; Matt.3:11; Rev. 18:1; 19:11-16.
Memory Text: “Therefore be patient, brethren, until the coming of the Lord. See how the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, waiting patiently for it until it receives the early and latter rain. You also be patient. Establish your hearts, for the coming of the Lord is at hand” (James 5:7, 8, NKJV).
The challenge of preaching the gospel in the context of the three angels’ messages to the entire world may seem impossible. Although the Seventh-day Adventist Church is growing rapidly, it is not keeping up with the population. There are multiple areas of the world where the name “Seventh-day Adventist” (much less our message) is not known.
The reality of this harsh fact leads to serious questions. Is it possible for the gospel to be preached to the entire world in this generation? Will there be some unusual breakthrough that will dramatically speed up the proclamation of the three angels’ messages? There is always one thing to keep in mind when we discuss this topic: the mission is God’s, and He will accomplish it. At the same time, however, we must remember that we have been called to a crucial role in that final work, as well.
Study this week’s lesson to prepare for Sabbath, September 28.
Be SDA for 24 *7
The world has tv , internet , and through them , by the testemony of a single man , or , through the stones , the present true can be spread as fire around the world . In few days !
The message of the Gospel may be transmitted by TV, the Internet, or even stones, but in the end, the most powerful argument for the Gospel is a life lived to the full meaning of the Gospel. Unselfish love, lived every day is the best evangelistic campaign ever waged.
We like to think that we know how to finish the work and view the use of technology as the means to reach the vast numbers of people in the world but here is a quote that seems to say something quite different that I think is worth considering, especially the last sentence:
Thanks for that powerful quotation, Tyler.
It is encouraging to know that the Lord will use "simple means" to finish the work. Perhaps means just as simple as when the work began about 2000 years ago.
It is sobering to know that some "will not recognize the work of God when the loud cry of the third angel shall be heard." I'm thinking that those who will not recognize the work of God will be ones disconnected from Him - for eternity.
Will we recognize the work of God? What is required for us to recognize the work of God when it happens?
1. "Is it possible for the gospel to be preached to the entire world in this generation?"
Yes, of course! God said it, and He means it.
2. "Will there be some unusual breakthrough that will dramatically speed up the proclamation of the three angels’ messages?"
Of course there is already one in place. God is our dramatic breakthrough. We together on His team are more than conquerors.
*** Very true, this mission is His, and He will accomplish it. It is a team effort if we let God be the chair of this “Gospel Preaching Stirring Committee,” we cannot go wrong. This work is finished in Jesus' Name. All He asks of us is to do the simple task (plant the seeds) and let Him do the harder job of watering and growing.
No more doubts, we are on the winning team!
The bible does not say that everyone must believe before the end will come. what the bible says is that everyone must hear the gospel as a witness. i do not think the task is only on seventh-day adventists, but on all Christians. when the gospel reaches everywhere, the end will come.
Dear Jane thank you for your contribution, the three angels message in Revelation 14 : 6 - 12, from verses 6-7 talks about preaching this goodness to all, that they should fear God who created all things, let me pause here and explain to the best of ma knowledge. In Ex 20:11, the same statement is made, that we should worship God who created everything. All other denominations do not preach the three angels message. We the Seventh-day Adventist preached this goodness in totality. Both passage explains that we should worship God who created the heavens and the earth, by so doing is clearly portray's worshiping God on the Seventh-day which God rested, blessed, and santified. Which denomination apart from Seventh-day Adventist will preached this goodness to the world. We have the mantle, we are the once to hesten Christ coming. May God Almighty help us in Jesus Name. Amen.
Dear Jane, you brought up a very crucial point that we must know and understand about the proclamation of the Three Angels Messages. We must proclaim this message to the whole world to be A WITNESS and then the end will come. We have a very simple but vital part in this final warning message to the world, for God will deliver the final touch to the individual in convicting the hearts of those that would heed the warning.
Many in the SDA church are proclaiming this message to convince people to join and be baptized into the SDA church. Our approach according to our instructions given in the Bible, is to share the 3 Angels Messages with as many ears in our localities, and then pray and wait upon the Lord for the yield at His time. There will be some souls that will accept the message immediately and they are our responsibility to welcome them in the family of God at their requests.
I always invite people if they have an hour of their time that i can share with them a very important and exciting information, and challange them to research every piece of information that i just shared with them. I believe there are thousands and thousands of people have already heard this warning message and God recognize them. I believe that Great Multitude that John saw in the vision will be from these Skeptics who remember hearing this warning message and made not their choices until these things actually unfolded in sight. We must wait patiently for the great outpouring of the Holy Spirit to experience a miraculous effect of this final warning message.
Now we must seize every opportunity in sharing this message to let it be a witness to everyone who listen to prepared their hearts when this message is proclaim with the power of the final outpouring of the Holy Spirit that will convert thousand and thousands of souls to follow the Lamb. Let us study and understand our role in the proclamation of the Three Angels Messages. Cheers!!!
There are many denominations that have a keen interest in mission work, sending out missionaries, relieving the sadness and ills of this world and bringing people to Christ. The Christian Missionary Alliance church is one such denomination that comes to my mind among others. One thing that I don't often hear these other churches that are actively doing mission work say is that Jesus is coming soon. If we believe that Jesus is coming soon we are looking forward to that event and want as many people as possible to share in that joyful event--which in turn motivates us to want to bring the love of Jesus to others.
