Singing with Inspiration – Lesson 12: The Habits of a Steward
Hymn 372, “Lord, I Have Made Thy Word My Choice”
adds to the memory text for this week, Psalm 119:9-11.
Our first good habit is to seek God first. This is reflected in:
Hymn 224, “Seek Ye First the Kingdom”. We may then add:
Hymn 539, “I Will Early Seek the Savior”. This will then give us the ability of:
Hymn 574, “O Master, Let Me Walk With Thee”.
The second habit to develop, is to look for the return of Jesus:
 Hymn 598, “Watch, Ye Saints”.
And, be ready:
Hymn 212, “ ‘Tis Almost Time for the Lord to Come”, and
Hymn 596, “Look for the Waymarks”.
“A moment lost is a moment lost forever”. Tuesday’s lesson encourages us to use time wisely:
 Hymn 507, “Moment by Moment”.
Wednesday’s habit of the mind shows that a “heart at peace gives life to the body” – Proverbs 14:30, NIV:
Hymn 463, “Peace, Perfect Peace” and
Hymn 466, “Wonderful Peace”. Another thought is “to invigorate the soul”:
Hymn 189, “All That Thrills My Soul”.
The final hymn to help us with our cultivation of good habits is:
Hymn 634, “Come, All Christians, Be Committed”.
Mark 8:36, “For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and lose his own soul?”
