  3. I think this was an excellent response. I have a question, I play basketball and obviously games will be held on Friday and Saturdays. I was thinking about playing in those games then spending the rest of the Sabbath resting and with God. And when I don't have games, to take a full Sabbath day. I'm not completely sure if this is good or okay in God's eyes to do and I need wisdom. What is your response to how I'm taking the Sabbath

    • Hey Alston,
Remember that God gave us 6 days out of the 7, and 1 day remains for him. In order to devout that one day to him, He has set parameters around that day to maintain its exclusivity to Him. He said the sabbath day is holy, and ways by which we keep it holy is to abstain from work, pleasure, idle talk, buying/selling, cooking etc. (exodus 20:8-11,Isaiah 58:13, Neh 13:15, exodus 16:23). Involvement in sports on the sabbath day would indeed be counted as a pleasure activity which is forbidden. The entire sabbath day should be focused on the Creator and is a timeframe intentionally designed by Him, to be spent with Him, being about His business and not about our own business!
      Hope that helps!
