7: The Seven Trumpets – Lesson Outline
Key Thought: The vision of the seven trumpets is to assure God’s people that heaven is not indifferent to their suffering. God has always intervened for His oppressed people and judged those who harm them.

1. Have a volunteer read Revelation 10:1-7.
- Ask class members to share a thought on what the most important point in this text is.
- What does it mean that there is time no longer? Is this referring to the end of time, or to no more prophetic time?
- Personal Application: Since the seventh angel has been sounding since 1844, can we expect the mystery of God to be finished soon? Share your thoughts.
- Case Study: One of your relatives states: “What is this little book that is open in the hands of the mighty angel? Is it the book of life?” How would you respond to your relative?
2. Have a volunteer read Revelation 11:1,2.
- Ask class members to share a short thought on what the most important point is in this passage.
- How did the Gentiles trample the court and holy city underfoot for forty and two months
- Personal Application: How do you look at the judgment? Is it good news or a little unsettling? Share your thoughts.
- Case Study: One of your friends states, “Why are we told to measure the temple right after eating the little book and the bittersweet experience?” How would you reply to your friend
(Note: By reading Daniel, people expected Jesus to return to earth in 1844. By leaving the courtyard – the earth where the Lamb was slain, out of the thinking – God was pointing to the Heavenly Sanctuary and the beginning of judgment.)
3. Have a volunteer read Revelation 11:3-9.
- Ask class members to share a short thought on what the main idea of this text is.
- Who are the two witnesses who prophesy in sackcloth for 1,260 years?
- Personal Application: How important is God’s Word to you? Is it gathering dust on the shelf at home, or being read every day? Share your thoughts
- Case Study: One of your neighbors states, “What are the three and a half days the witnesses dead bodies lie in the streets of the city?” How would you respond to your neighbor?
4. Have a volunteer read Revelation 8:6,13.
- Ask class members to share a short thought on what the main idea of this text is.
- What do the seven trumpets introduce in history?
