1. Have a volunteer read Revelation 14:9-11.
- Ask class members to share a thought on what the most important point in this text is.
- Why is the warning against Babylon and false worship part of the everlasting good news?
- Personal Application: What are some things that even now we might be tempted to worship? Share your thoughts.
- Case Study: One of your relatives states: “Why does the New Testament warn against false worship? People don’t worship idols, statues, and false gods today like they did in the Old Testament. We are wiser and more civilized today. ” How would you respond to your relative?
2. Have a volunteer read Acts 2:42..
- Ask class members to share a short thought on what the most important point is in this passage.
- What were some of the elements of early Christian worship?
- Personal Application: How important is it to study God’s word and fellowship with other believers to you? Share your thoughts.
- Case Study: One of your friends states, “How well grounded are you in your church teachings? Could you present them clearly to someone else or defend them in face of adversity?” How would you reply to your friend?
3. Have a volunteer read Acts 2:46,47.
- Ask class members to share a short thought on what the main idea of this text is.
- What did the early Christians pray together for?
- Personal Application: In what ways can we experience a deeper unity through the power of intercessory prayer for common goals? Share your thoughts
- Case Study: One of your neighbors states, “What is the essence of your worship services? Is it content-oriented, following a Scriptural liturgy every week? Is that enough? What would help it be a more meaningful worship service?” How would you respond to your neighbor?
4. Have a volunteer read Revelation 14:6,7.
- Ask class members to share a short thought on what the main idea of this text is.
- What is the first angel’s message and what does it say about God?
- Personal Application: Why do we rarely consider worship outside of church? How can we make worship a lifestyle? Share your thoughts.
- Case Study: Think of one person who needs to hear a message from this week’s lesson. Tell the class what you plan to do this week to share with them.
