two person standing on full your destiny pavement artwork

For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain. Philippians 1:21 NKJV Paul felt the destiny of his life was to share the Gospel, even if it meant facing constant persecution and even death.  And now I am bound by the Spirit to go to Jerusalem. I don’t know what awaits me, … Continue reading –>

Good and Evil Angels Fighting For and Against Man

Daily Lesson for Monday 12th of January 2026 In case you have not noticed, we are all, as believers especially, involved in the great controversy, which rages all around us and, indeed, in us as well. Paul Writing in Prison

Daily Lesson for Sunday 11th of January 2026 Read Philippians 1:19-20. What seems to be Paul’s expectation as to the outcome of his trial? What does he consider even more important than being acquitted? Although Paul was no criminal, this was not the first time that he had been imprisoned, and he was no stranger … Continue reading –>

Daily Lesson for Friday 9th of January 2026 Further Thought “Many are unable to make definite plans for the future. Their life is unsettled. Daily Lesson for Thursday 8th of January 2026 Read Colossians 1:9-12. What specific requests do you find in Paul’s prayer? Paul prays “that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will.” Paul describes knowing God’s will as “wisdom and spiritual understanding” (Colossians 1:9, NKJV). Wisdom comes, first of all, by trusting God fully, … Continue reading –>

Paul at a table

Daily Lesson for Monday 5th of January 2026 Some years ago, there was a pastor who talked about prayers that revolve around me, me, me, and my needs or desires. He aptly characterized them as “selfish little prayers,” because God has bigger things in mind. Read Paul’s prayer in Philippians 1:9-11. What is its focus, … Continue reading –>

At a camp meeting 40 years later, I happened to see Dr. I. demonstrating some kind of health product, if I remember correctly. (In my mind, I see only the image of him, much older, but still looking much like he did when I was a student, with a friend by my side.) I lingered a little but did not introduce myself. I briefly wondered whether he recognized me. I’m fairly sure that I was as recognizable to him as he was to me.

Had he changed? Or did he still feel superior in his “humility”? Should I talk to him? I didn’t know how to approach him, and was busy with friends. I still don’t know whether I should have said something. (Maybe I’m just a coward.)

If God wants him to see my story, his and my identity are clear enough in this post, that God can direct him to it.
