The title for the quarter immediately brings to mind  Hymn 499, What A Friend We Have in Jesus. 02: Winsome Witnesses – Teaching Plan

Sabbath School Net Posted on July 4, 2020 by Michael FrackerAugust 24, 2020Michael Fracker

Key Thought: There is unusual power in personal testimony. It is one thing to share what Jesus has done for someone else. It is quite another to share what He has done for us personally. July 11, 2020 1. Have a volunteer read Mark 5:15-20. Ask class members to share a thought on what the … Continue reading –>

Ask class members to share a thought on what the most important point in this text is. What does Luke’s gospel teach … Continue reading –>

01: Why witness? Discussion Starters

Sabbath School Net Posted on June 28, 2020 by Joyce GriffithJune 28, 2020Joyce Griffith

Why witness? At the beginning of a new quarter of lessons, we are invited to think about how God’s love is the main reason we have a church family. Did you notice the perspective in the introduction to the lesson, that it’s not our job to save the world. That is the work of God. Our … Continue reading –>

Sabbath School Net Posted on June 21, 2020 by Michael FrackerAugust 24, 2020Michael Fracker

Key Thought: The best method of studying the Bible is of no use if we are not determined to live by what we learn from Scripture. June  27, 2020 1. Have a volunteer read Philippians 2:12-16. At a camp meeting 40 years later, I happened to see Dr. I. demonstrating some kind of health product, if I remember correctly. (In my mind, I see only the image of him, much older, but still looking much like he did when I was a student, with a friend by my side.) I lingered a little but did not introduce myself. I briefly wondered whether he recognized me. I’m fairly sure that I was as recognizable to him as he was to me.

Had he changed? Or did he still feel superior in his “humility”? Should I talk to him? I didn’t know how to approach him, and was busy with friends. I still don’t know whether I should have said something. (Maybe I’m just a coward.)

If God wants him to see my story, his and my identity are clear enough in this post, that God can direct him to it.
