Sabbath School Net Posted on May 24, 2018 by William EarnhardtMay 29, 2018avatar

Many Christians squirm and struggle with the story of the repentant thief being saved without “putting in his time” or “earning” it. This story alone makes salvation look too easy. But where in Scripture does it say salvation is supposed to be hard? How hard did Adam and Eve work to be placed in paradise … Continue reading –>

Man Turning Away from Jesus

Is it  your relationship with Jesus, or is it something else? A rich young ruler came to Jesus with this question: “Teacher, what good deed must I do to have eternal life?” Matthew 19:16 NLT Is this a profound question? It’s really a shallow and selfish question. The young man asking this question is only interested in his own … Continue reading –>

Sabbath School Net Posted on August 21, 2013 by Joyce GriffithSeptember 26, 2013Joyce Griffith

“Consider how I love Your precepts; revive me, O Lord, according to Your lovingkindness.” “The entirety of Your word is truth, and every one of Your righteous judgments endures forever” (Psalm 119:159, 160, NKJV). [Thought questions for Discernment: The Safeguard of Revival August 21, 2013] 1. The devil studies the Bible. Imagine going to a … Continue reading –>

What Difference Does It Make?

Sabbath School Net Posted on March 21, 2013 by Lillianne LopezFebruary 14, 2016avatar

Several years ago, when we were all much younger, I was taking my older son, KC to his first cello lesson with a new teacher. I think he was in the third grade, and my younger son, Justin, was in second grade. If this hadn’t been the first lesson with this teacher, I would have … Continue reading –>

At a camp meeting 40 years later, I happened to see Dr. I. demonstrating some kind of health product, if I remember correctly. (In my mind, I see only the image of him, much older, but still looking much like he did when I was a student, with a friend by my side.) I lingered a little but did not introduce myself. I briefly wondered whether he recognized me. I’m fairly sure that I was as recognizable to him as he was to me.

Had he changed? Or did he still feel superior in his “humility”? Should I talk to him? I didn’t know how to approach him, and was busy with friends. I still don’t know whether I should have said something. (Maybe I’m just a coward.)

If God wants him to see my story, his and my identity are clear enough in this post, that God can direct him to it.
