  1. What lesson can we draw from the story of Abraham(Genesis 12), story of Isaac(Genesis 26) in relation to trust in the lord and God's grace?

  2. Read Gn 26:5 . The grace don't destroy the law. The grace gives conditions and power to the believer keep the commandmens involved by grace . Whithout grace and faith our deeds are nothing. ...and the contrary is truth too. Mathew 7;. 21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

  3. Okay, interesting discussion re God's foreknowledge. The Author tells us that God knows what is going to happen before it happens because it happens. Fine, I get that. Then he said that God hoped that Adam and Eve would not sin. I am struggling with that, and am finding it hard to reconcile the two concepts. On one hand God knew before they sinned that they would sin, because they chose to sin.... yet on the other hand had a hope that they would not sin. Can anyone help this old head out with this? I do like both concepts...I can run with the idea that the only reason God knows what we are going to go left is because we choose to do so. I am also cool with the idea that God had a hope that Adam and Eve would not choose to sin, in fact, I wouldn't have it any other way. But melding the two together .....

    • God knows everything before it happens because , God lives out of or above "time".
God created time and this is a dimension that we as His creatures lives in.
We are in time and cannot see the future ( behind the hill)
God is in the past , present and future at the same time ( in another dimension) in the sky you can see before and after the hill.
God is eternal no beginning and or end that's why it is also difficult for us to understand , it is above our imagination
Hope in this context is to describe an emotion!

  4. i'm not sure about the "God hoped" part but i believe its not God's will or plan that we sin. He would want all of us to be saved but at the same time He knows the choices we will make before we make them.

  5. The lesson states that the "baton" that is passed on through out the ages is "law and grace". It seems to me this is a somewhat narrow view. It seems to me that "Who God is" and how he treats his children is the baton. It will take from Adam "Eve did it" to a group who are totally transformed, "Others centered". A group who are not afraid of death to save the community. It seems to me this says a lot more about God.
