Singing with Inspiration – Lesson 6: Adam and Jesus
Our memory text brings us our first hymns when is says, “we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ”:
Hymn 466, “Wonderful Peace” and
Hymn 463, “Peace, Perfect Peace”. The memory text goes on to remind us of the General Conference theme song
Hymn 214, “We Have This Hope”.
The introduction to this week tells us of Jesus blood being the foundation for all our hope:
Hymn 294, “Power in the Blood”, and
Hymn 184 , “Jesus Paid It All”.
With our lesson studies having faith as a recurring theme, the hymns we have used frequently so far this quarter come back to us again this week:
Hymn 517, “My Faith Looks up to Thee”,
Hymn 523, “My Faith Has Found a Resting Place”, and
Hymn 533, “O for a Faith”.
Monday raises:
Hymn 295, “Chief of Sinners” and
Hymn 521, “Depth of Mercy”.
We may have Death Through Sin (Tuesday’s topic) but
Hymn 526, “Because He Lives” I can face tomorrow.
If you have the old church hymnal (pre-1985) you will thoroughly enjoy singing:
Hymn 498, “Yield Not To Temptation” which is part of the focus in Thursday’s study.
The 31st October, 2017 being 500 years since Martin Luther posted his Ninety-Five Theses on the door of the Castle of Church of Wittenberg in Germany, I can’t help but put in the hymn that he wrote,
Hymn 506, “A Mighty Fortress”
May God be your Mighty Fortress for the coming week.
“Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ”. – Romans 1:7
