02: From Jerusalem to Babylon – Singing with Inspiration — 11 Comments

  1. Holy Spirit- Power in singing.

I can’t locate that Hymnal so I will use the one I have. When we are ‘dare’ to do something good and pleasant, that thing though important can only be done with the help of the Holy Ghost. Dare to stand alone- it takes Faith. Faith that can’t be bought or sold.
I found these that helps me:
    100- Great is thy Faithfulness.
304 – Faith of our Fathers.
517- My Faith looks up to thee.
523- My Faith hath found a resting place.
    533- O for a Faith.

  2. Hi Lyn
Thank you for contributing some more wonderful hymns to add to what we have for this coming Sabbath.
Faith in our Lord Jesus, is such an important part of what and who we are.
Blessings to you for your thoughtfulness.

The Holy Spirit is powerful in singing. Singing does something to us what nothing else can.

At a camp meeting 40 years later, I happened to see Dr. I. demonstrating some kind of health product, if I remember correctly. (In my mind, I see only the image of him, much older, but still looking much like he did when I was a student, with a friend by my side.) I lingered a little but did not introduce myself. I briefly wondered whether he recognized me. I’m fairly sure that I was as recognizable to him as he was to me.

Had he changed? Or did he still feel superior in his “humility”? Should I talk to him? I didn’t know how to approach him, and was busy with friends. I still don’t know whether I should have said something. (Maybe I’m just a coward.)

If God wants him to see my story, his and my identity are clear enough in this post, that God can direct him to it.
