Free Will, Love, and Divine Providence – Hit the Mark Sabbath School — 4 Comments

  1. I think one has to first define what free will and determine whether the bible teaches free will. Together contrasting the attributes of God and that of man.

I personally come to conclusion that we do not have free will but choices. Because with free will no external force must determine our fate
Secondly what are we free from? Is it God.

    • If we have the ability to make choices, which you say we have, then we have free will by definition.

No external force determines the eternal fate of anyone reading this.

When we refer to "free will" on this blog, we refer to power to make moral choices.

  2. Touching predestination we are all predestined basing on the election of God that relay on his foreknowledge and looks forward towards our eternal destiny Romana 8:28-32.
One attribute of God is he can't learn but knows the outcome before it happens. We can not surprise HIM knows our choices before hand but we get protection against wrong choices when we allow HIS will to work all good in us Philipians 2:13.He also knows those who make the choice to welcome HIM to take control.
Abraham was predestined, Issac was chosen, Jacob was justifies and Joseph was glories. This is the type of the life or path of those chosen according to God's foreknowledge take to their glorification.
    Be blessed all.

  3. Jude 3.
We aught to uplift the teaching of the old not philosophical or emotional thought but scripture must guide the conclusio. Draw.

There is no term free will in the bible not a concept taught about it but we see often God calling His to make choices that align with His commands. Had we had free will acording to it definition then our choices must not at all dertime our fate.
Thank you all and be blessed.
