04 The Bible – The Authoritative Source of Our Theology – Singing with Inspiration
There are several hymns we could use for a theme this Second Quarter of 2020. Here are just two, the first being
Hymn 272, Give Me the Bible, followed by
Hymn 277, For Your Holy Book We Thank You. Thank you to the ladies who messaged in and suggested
that we could also add the song
Ancient Words – if you have the Copyright (CCLI) available for your church or group.
Our memory verse brings directly to us one of our theme hymns,
Hymn 272, Give Me the Bible.
The faithfulness spoken of three times in the last paragraph on Sunday’s study is found in
Hymn 100, Great is Thy Faithfulness and
Hymn 602, O Brother, Be Faithful.
Monday states that “it is God’s desire that we experience . . . joy of His salvation and the power of the promises of His Word” –
Hymn 339, God Is My Strong Salvation,
Hymn 646, To the Name That Brings Salvation along with
Hymn 518, Standing on the Promises and
Hymn 682, As You Have Promised, Lord.
Thursday commences with “The Bible alone is the norm by which everything else needs to be tested”
Hymn 273, Lord, I Have Made Thy Word My Choice and
Hymn 274, O Word of God Incarnate. It is the Holy Spirit who helps our understanding. We put our request to the Holy Spirit in
Hymn 268, Holy Spirit, Light Divine,
Hymn 269, Come, Holy Spirit, Hymn 589,
Holy Spirit, Gracious Guest and
Hymn 680, Holy Spirit, Hear Us.
As we close the study for this week, the hymn that resounds so clearly is
In Times Like These, Hymn 593.
2 Timothy 2:15 KJV – “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”
