07 Sharing the Word – Singing with Inspiration
The title for the quarter’s lesson pamphlet immediately brings to mind
Hymn 499 – What A Friend We Have in Jesus.
This weeks’ study title gives encouragement to us to open our Bibles and share the Word –
Hymn 272 – Give Me the Bible,
Hymn 286 – Wonderful Words of Life and then
I Will Sing Of Jesus’ Love – Hymn 183.
Sunday shows that the Word of God can illuminate the darkest of minds. The prayer requesting this is in
Hymn 269 – Come, Holy Spirit. The Word of God is then likened to a seed, for which we then sing
Hymn 369 – Bringing in the Sheaves. The Bread of Life is in
Hymn 271 – Break Thou the Bread of Life.
Hymn 271 – Break Thou the Bread of Life is spoken of as we commence the study on Monday: “The Word of God is the Living Word”. The creative powers of God are expounded as in
Hymn 1 – Praise to the Lord,
Hymn 26 – Praise the Lord! You Heavens Adore Him,
Hymn 29 – Sing Praise to God and
Hymn 320 – Lord of Creation.
Paul urges Timothy
O Brother, Be Faithful – Hymn 602 on Tuesday.
Wednesday’s dominant word is ‘promise’. There are hymns to sing that explain and encourage us about God promises to us:
Hymn 31 – Tell Out My Soul,
Hymn 74 – Like a River Glorious;
Hymn 76 – O Love That Wilt Not Let Me Go (verse 3);
Hymn 80 – O World of God (verse 2 specifically);
Hymn 108 – Amazing Grace; God’s promise of love is shown in
Hymn 195 – Showers of Blessing; we have a promised home in
Hymn 205 – Gleams of the Golden Morning; faith is the promise of His Word in
Hymn 214 – We Have This Hope; the wonderful love God has promised is in
Hymn 287 – Softly and Tenderly; God’s Word will not fail in
Hymn 290 – Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus; and in return we can then sing
O Jesus I Have Promised – Hymn 331. These are just a few of the hymns that expound God’s promises.
Our hearts are full of joy and gratitude as we come to know our Saviour and Lord, Jesus, and with this we wish to share the happiness saying
What a Friend We Have in Jesus – Hymn 499,
Hymn 152 – Tell Me the Story of Jesus,
Hymn 456 – I Have a Friend So Precious (ie: My Lord and I), and
Hymn 189 – All That Thrills My Soul. The last paragraph on Thursday shows us we can surrender our lives to Christ:
Hymn 309 – I Surrender All.
For You I Am Praying – Hymn 284 because
The Savior Is Waiting– Hymn 289 is exactly what we are able to tell each person with whom we come in contact each day.
2 Timothy 2:15 KJV – “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”
