07 Sharing the Word – Singing with Inspiration — 1 Comment

  1. Corinne, this is a great site, don't know why I don't contribute more to it. For me, I like singing but was not considered a good singer. I do sing in the spirit. But what does that mean? I do not sing to entertain humans but when the Holy Spirit wants me to bring happiness, peace, joy, etc to someone he brings all the hymns to me and I will be singing. Also, I should say when I sing that's when my spirit feels down. Because I recognized I can't sing melodious, I would sing quietly. But people will ask me if I sing in the choir at church, I would tell them no. They would ask me why not, I would let them know I can't sing well. What they hear is what the Holy Spirit gave to me at that very moment to deliver to them. They would compliment me for singing because the hymns lift their spirit up. To me, what I am hearing and what is being delivered to their ears are two different things. I take no credit for what they hear.
Today- after studying the lesson what came to my mind was:
O, for a faith that will not shrink, though pressed by many a foe, that will not tremble on the brink of poverty, of poverty or woe; of poverty or woe.
