2: The Family – Singing with Inspiration
Hymn 193 – Savior, Teach me and
Hymn 266 – Spirit of God may be used as the theme hymns for education this quarter.
The topic of the week is “The Family” with the first part of the family being Marriage. For this we have
Hymn 656 – O Perfect Love,
Hymn 657 – O God, From Whom Mankind and
Hymn 658 – Heavenly Father, Hear Our Prayer.
We are blessed to have a section in our SDA Hymnal that is about Love in the Home. The most familiar hymns will be:
Hymn 652 – Love at Home,
Hymn 653 – Lead Them, My God, to Thee, and
Hymn 655 – Happy the Home.
For the Childhood of Jesus, a wonderful hymn to sing is
Hymn 190 – Jesus Loves Me.
The best communication we have in song with Jesus is in
Hymn 251 – He Lives,
Hymn 487 – In the Garden and
Hymn 456 – My Lord and I.
To sing of parents, we can go back to the hymns for Love in the Home.
“Lest Ye Forget” is clearly sung in
Hymn 317 – Lead Me to Calvary.
As with all education, we are to learn to
Trust and Obey – Hymn 590.
If you do not know any of the hymns listed above, you will find the music for each one at: https://sdahymnals.com/Hymnal/
2 Timothy 2:15 KJV – “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”
