A Challenge to Explore Exodus — 10 Comments

  1. Thank you for the challenge. I was also thinking of re-reading the pertinent parts of Patriarchs and Prophets. Or maybe the whole book again as it
    has been a while.

  3. Maranatha Saints, yes, thank you for the challenge. I will take on the challenge by using my personal audio CD set [NIV] and borrowed CD sets and audio/eBook editions download from the public library. free...free...free... from the library (your taxes paying for it anyways, take advantage of the free borrowed Holy Bibles and downloads)

  4. Reflections on Wednesday -- Moses is Born
Moses is born for such a time as this...in spite of man's pronouncement and Satan's poisonous plan, God's Will will always triumph using anyone whom He chooses to carry out His biddings for the advancement of His Kingdom. Can I say that He stirred the heart of an Egyptian princess (as with Cyprus- Erza 1:1)
Never discount whose heart God can stir up.
Lord help me not to write off anyone. Because whosoever will can be used by God!

  5. The story of the book of Exodus is in many ways a microcosm of our lives. "Hey Moses, are we there yet?!" "Are you sure that you know where you're going?" "This looks familiar Mo, are we lost?" So many parallels and lessons for living out our own exodus from slavery to sin to freedom in Christ. The murnering and complaining, the backsliding and repentance, the cloud by day and the pillar of fire by night, bitter water, water from a rock, manna from heaven, it's all there, and it all seems to coincide with our own journey to the real "Promised Land."

Sometimes the sojourn in the wilderness seems to suck the life out of us. At other times it breathes it back into us. God has done, and is doing everything that He can to get us safely across this desert of desparation into the oasis of promise. What if we could pull back the curtain and see that behind the scenes we have a loving, caring, and beneficient God leading us through the pitfalls and pratfalls of our earthly journey in hope of leading us all the way to His house to live with Him forever? When I see my life through the filter of God’s protection, provision, and promises, it gives my life purpose, promise, and hope that "faithful is he who called us, and he will do it." 1 Thess. 5:24. He who began that good work in us is faithful to complete it if we will only cooperate. Philippians 1:6

It reminds of this beautiful song which has ministered to me when I am tempted to give up and throw in the towel.

  8. Without faith it is impossible to please God…The first week’s reading on the book of Exodus’s teaches me a lot about faith.
How did Moses establish his faith in God? Since there was no bible in His days?
    Was it from his mother?
