Why Every Bible Study Must be a Study About the Cross

Sabbath School Net Posted on July 5, 2026 by William EarnhardtJuly 12, 2026avatar

This week’s Sabbath School lesson is a classic example of why every Bible Study must be presented in light of the cross.  The sacrifice of Christ as an atonement for sin is the great truth around which all other truths cluster. In order to be rightly understood and appreciated, every truth in the word of … Continue reading –>

A lot of us have our own ideas of what repentance means, so let’s look at what repentance means in the Bible.  The first Biblical example of repentance is God Himself.  And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was … Continue reading –>

For it will come as a snare on all those who dwell on the face of the whole earth. Watch therefore, and pray always that you may be counted … Continue reading –>

The Role of the Bible in the Last Days

Sabbath School Net Posted on April 19, 2026 by William EarnhardtApril 27, 2026avatar

He performs great signs, so that he even makes fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men. And he deceives those who dwell on the earth by those signs which he was granted to do in the sight of the beast, telling those who dwell on the earth to make … Continue reading –>

Can You Spot Humility or Pride?

Sabbath School Net Posted on April 17, 2026 by Inge AndersonApril 24, 2026avatar

Can you easily spot whether someone is proud? Or whether someone is humble? “We’ve all known people with big egos … ” our lesson author writes. It might be worthwhile to remember that we most frequently see our own faults in others. So if we often spot the sin of pride in others, that might well … Continue reading –>

They will warn them about the water. “Don’t go in … Continue reading –>

The Bible declares two mysteries –the mystery of iniquity and the mystery of Godliness. The phrase, “mystery of iniquity,” is mentioned only one time and only in the KJV. “For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way. 2 Thessalonians 2:7 … Continue reading –>

At a camp meeting 40 years later, I happened to see Dr. I. demonstrating some kind of health product, if I remember correctly. (In my mind, I see only the image of him, much older, but still looking much like he did when I was a student, with a friend by my side.) I lingered a little but did not introduce myself. I briefly wondered whether he recognized me. I’m fairly sure that I was as recognizable to him as he was to me.

Had he changed? Or did he still feel superior in his “humility”? Should I talk to him? I didn’t know how to approach him, and was busy with friends. I still don’t know whether I should have said something. (Maybe I’m just a coward.)

If God wants him to see my story, his and my identity are clear enough in this post, that God can direct him to it.
