How Can There be Many Antichrists?

Sabbath School Net Posted on June 12, 2023 by William EarnhardtJune 20, 2023avatar
The Little Horn

As Adventists we understand from the book of Revelation that the anti-Christ is the papacy putting itself in the place of God. Of course, any system putting itself in the place of God is an anti-Christ. In 1 John 2:18, John writes, “even now are there many anti-Christs; whereby we know that it is the … Continue reading –>

When the Faith(fulness) of Jesus Carried me Through

Sabbath School Net Posted on June 6, 2023 by William EarnhardtJune 12, 2023avatar

Monday’s section of this week’s Sabbath School lesson asks the question,  Think about a time when life seemed to crumble around you and all that you had was your faith. How did you get by? What lessons did you learn? What did you experience that could help others who might be going through something similar? … Continue reading –>

How Spiritualism Leads to Idol Worship

Sabbath School Net Posted on May 30, 2023 by William EarnhardtJune 6, 2023avatar
Communicating With the Dead

Shortly after my mother died, I went to a restaurant alone, to write in my journal about my thoughts about my recent loss. My mother’s name was “Sara,” so I thought it interesting when the waitress came to my table and told me her name was “Sara.” I ordered my usual favorite beverage, but the … Continue reading –>

Living Like Daniel in the Middle of Babylon

Sabbath School Net Posted on May 24, 2023 by William EarnhardtMay 30, 2023avatar

As Adventists, we believe that in the last days there will be a showdown between spiritual Babylon and those who have the seal of God, who reflect the character of Jesus. While Daniel had his haters, it amazes me how he seemed to thrive and even find favor among the leaders of Babylon and Persia. … Continue reading –>

Why we Still Need the Weekly 7th-day Sabbath

Sabbath School Net Posted on May 15, 2023 by William EarnhardtJuly 23, 2024avatar

A while back, I had a conversation with a former Sabbath-keeping friend who had first turned away from the Sabbath, and then gradually  started turning away from other Bible teachings as well. Sadly, this confirmed for me that the same logic some Christians use to do away with the Spirit of Prophecy and  the Sabbath … Continue reading –>

Why Worshiping God Is a Choice and Not an Addiction

Sabbath School Net Posted on May 10, 2023 by William EarnhardtMay 15, 2023avatar
Mystery Bible

Those who worship false gods turn their backs on all God’s mercies. Jonah 2:8 NLT Over the last 30 years of studying the Bible with people, I have had a few conversations that have have gone like this. Friend: I am so bored right now. I wish there were something to do, anything! I am … Continue reading –>

The Cleansing of the Sanctuary in Scripture

Sabbath School Net Posted on May 1, 2023 by William EarnhardtMay 12, 2024avatar

When people ask me why Adventists do not keep the feast days, I tell them we do – literally! At the cross we had the literal Passover. Ever since 1844 we have been living in the literal Day of Atonement. When Jesus returns and we go to heaven it will literally be The feast of … Continue reading –>

Jesus is the Sinner’s Advocate and Friend

Sabbath School Net Posted on April 27, 2023 by William EarnhardtMay 2, 2023avatar

My little children, these things I write to you, so that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. And He Himself is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the whole world. 1 John 1:1-2 NKJV An … Continue reading –>

How to Fear God Without Being Afraid of Him

Sabbath School Net Posted on April 19, 2023 by William EarnhardtApril 27, 2023avatar

“Fear God and give glory to Him, for the hour of His judgment has come; and worship Him who made heaven and earth, the sea and springs of water.” Revelation 14:7 NKJV Love has been perfected among us in this: that we may have boldness in the day of judgment; because as He is, so … Continue reading –>

At a camp meeting 40 years later, I happened to see Dr. I. demonstrating some kind of health product, if I remember correctly. (In my mind, I see only the image of him, much older, but still looking much like he did when I was a student, with a friend by my side.) I lingered a little but did not introduce myself. I briefly wondered whether he recognized me. I’m fairly sure that I was as recognizable to him as he was to me.

Had he changed? Or did he still feel superior in his “humility”? Should I talk to him? I didn’t know how to approach him, and was busy with friends. I still don’t know whether I should have said something. (Maybe I’m just a coward.)

If God wants him to see my story, his and my identity are clear enough in this post, that God can direct him to it.
