Not Making a Will Won’t Make You Live Any Longer

Sabbath School Net Posted on March 6, 2023 by William EarnhardtMarch 15, 2023avatar

People have told me that, if it came down to it, they would be afraid to die for Jesus. But you know what? We are going to die anyway, so we might as well be willing to die for Jesus. At least that way we have the hope of eternal life after dying. After all, … Continue reading –>

I Don’t Need Anything the World Has

Sabbath School Net Posted on February 28, 2023 by William EarnhardtMarch 7, 2023avatar

Do not love this world nor the things it offers you, for when you love the world, you do not have the love of the Father in you. For the world offers only a craving for physical pleasure, a craving for everything we see, and pride in our achievements and possessions. These are not from … Continue reading –>

What is Your Net Worth?

Sabbath School Net Posted on February 22, 2023 by William EarnhardtFebruary 28, 2023avatar

He gave justice and help to the poor and needy, and everything went well for him. Isn’t that what it means to know me?” says the Lord. Jeremiah 22:16 NLT George W. Jenkins not only began his Publix grocery store incorporation during the depression, but he also set up several foundations and charities so that … Continue reading –>

Are You Better Than Someone Jesus Died for?

Sabbath School Net Posted on February 13, 2023 by William EarnhardtFebruary 22, 2023avatar
Christ's Helping Hand © Chernetskaya

I think my parents did a pretty balanced job of raising me. I was taught that no one was better than me and that I am no better than anyone else. A while back I was listening to a documentary on NPR , talking about how awkward it was for people who served as maids … Continue reading –>

There’s More to Your Work Today Than What Meets the Eye

Sabbath School Net Posted on February 7, 2023 by William EarnhardtFebruary 13, 2023avatar

Sometimes I wonder if God keeps us from seeing all of the successes of our ministries in order to keep us humble, but yet He lets us see just enough to keep us going. We all need an encouraging nudge in the right direction from time to time. Some of these nudges may seem more … Continue reading –>

Expressing Our Love for Christ

Sabbath School Net Posted on January 24, 2023 by William EarnhardtJanuary 31, 2023avatar
Weeping Woman Washing the Feet of Jesus

Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver. 2 Corinthians 9:7 Pastor Richard Wurmbrand, the author of Tortured for Christ, suffered terribly for the Lord. Yet he said that even while in prison, he saw fellow  believers practice generous … Continue reading –>

Tithing – A Hebrew Perspective

Sabbath School Net Posted on January 17, 2023 by Maurice AshtonFebruary 13, 2023avatar

When this topic came up some years ago, there was no real discussion about the practice of tithing as described in the books of Moses. We were then, and still are very keen to move on to the justification of the Seventh-day Adventist position on tithing. In this study I have purposely concentrated on the … Continue reading –>

How to Fill Out the Tithe Envelope

Sabbath School Net Posted on January 8, 2023 by William EarnhardtMay 2, 2023avatar
The Bible Speaks to All People

Understandably, there are many who are unaware of the difference between tithes and offerings. Many – even seasoned members – are surprised to learn there is a difference. Tithe is not used locally, like for church maintenance, Sabbath School supplies and so on. The offerings cover those needs, while the tithe goes to pay the … Continue reading –>

Jesus Looking Over Earth

Welcome to 2023! I have never been to 2023 before, so I am just as new here as you are, but we are all in this together. I just realized I have not written a single thing all year! So I’d better get busy now. Some of us are eagerly looking forward to turning the … Continue reading –>

The Millennium In Light of The Cross

Sabbath School Net Posted on December 20, 2022 by William EarnhardtDecember 27, 2022avatar
Glorious 2nd Advent

Brief Overview: The millennium is the thousand-year reign of Christ with His saints in heaven between the first and second resurrections. During this time the wicked dead will be judged; the earth will be utterly desolate, without living human inhabitants, but occupied by Satan and his angels. At its close Christ with His saints and … Continue reading –>

At a camp meeting 40 years later, I happened to see Dr. I. demonstrating some kind of health product, if I remember correctly. (In my mind, I see only the image of him, much older, but still looking much like he did when I was a student, with a friend by my side.) I lingered a little but did not introduce myself. I briefly wondered whether he recognized me. I’m fairly sure that I was as recognizable to him as he was to me.

Had he changed? Or did he still feel superior in his “humility”? Should I talk to him? I didn’t know how to approach him, and was busy with friends. I still don’t know whether I should have said something. (Maybe I’m just a coward.)

If God wants him to see my story, his and my identity are clear enough in this post, that God can direct him to it.
