Monday: Let There Be Light

Sabbath School Net Posted on January 6, 2013 by SSNET StaffJune 12, 2014avatar

“Then God said, ‘Let there be light’; and there was light. And God saw the light, that it was good; and God divided the light from the darkness. God called the light Day, and the darkness He called Night. So the evening and the morning were the first day (Gen. 1:3-5, NKJV). What do these verses teach … Continue reading –>

Further Study: Jesus, Creator of Heaven and Earth

Sabbath School Net Posted on January 3, 2013 by SSNET StaffMay 9, 2013avatar

Further Study: “The work of creation can never be explained by science. What science can explain the mystery of life? “The theory that God did not create matter when He brought the world into existence is without foundation. In the formation of our world, God was not indebted to pre-existing matter. On the contrary, all … Continue reading –>

Thursday: The Creator Among Us

Sabbath School Net Posted on January 2, 2013 by SSNET StaffApril 18, 2013avatar

Read John 2:7-11, 6:8-13, 9:1-34. What do these texts reveal about the creative power of God? Each of these miracles gives us a glimpse of God’s power over the material world that He Himself created. First, what kind of process would be required to change water directly into wine? None that we know of. Indeed, it took an act … Continue reading –>

Wednesday: Jesus, Creator of Heaven and Earth

Sabbath School Net Posted on January 1, 2013 by SSNET StaffJanuary 5, 2013avatar
Christ as Creator

Read John 1:1-3, 14; Colossians 1:15, 16; Hebrews 1:1, 2. How do the New Testament writers identify the Creator? What are the implications of the answer? John refers to Jesus as the Word (&8220;Logos”) and equates Him with God. More specifically, Jesus is the One through whom all things were created. In John’s day, the term logos was commonly used to represent the … Continue reading –>

Tuesday: The Power of His Word

Sabbath School Net Posted on December 31, 2012 by SSNET StaffJanuary 4, 2013avatar

Read Jeremiah 51:15, 16 and Psalm 33:6, 9. In addition to wisdom, what other attribute of God is mentioned in the Creation? How was this attribute expressed in Creation? More important, what are the implications of this truth for us? Though we cannot know exactly how God created, we are told that it was through His powerful word. All the … Continue reading –>

Monday: The Heavens Declare

Sabbath School Net Posted on December 30, 2012 by SSNET StaffJanuary 8, 2013avatar

“The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork. Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night sheweth knowledge. There is no speech nor language, where their voice is not heard” (Ps. 19:1-3, see also Rom. 1:19, 20). How have you experienced the truth of these texts? How has modern science helped us to even … Continue reading –>

At a camp meeting 40 years later, I happened to see Dr. I. demonstrating some kind of health product, if I remember correctly. (In my mind, I see only the image of him, much older, but still looking much like he did when I was a student, with a friend by my side.) I lingered a little but did not introduce myself. I briefly wondered whether he recognized me. I’m fairly sure that I was as recognizable to him as he was to me.

Had he changed? Or did he still feel superior in his “humility”? Should I talk to him? I didn’t know how to approach him, and was busy with friends. I still don’t know whether I should have said something. (Maybe I’m just a coward.)

If God wants him to see my story, his and my identity are clear enough in this post, that God can direct him to it.
