I Don’t Need What the World has. The World Needs What I Have. — 4 Comments

  1. Amen. The 1st thing that came to mind is the lyric: Take the world, but give me Jesus; all it’s joys are but a name, but His love abideth forever, through eternal years the same…In His cross my trust shall be, till, with clearer, brighter vision, face to face my Lord I see. I have found that spending a thoughtful hour on the life of Christ, all the promises, stories, and instructions in the Bible daily, push the world out. I am up lifted by your work and testimonies.

  2. It is really sad that in most cases as Christians, we do desire and we long for want the world have not like Paul who knew that when you have God you have everything and when you have God you have Gold, you have life.
God lead me to desire your ways not the world ways and wants.Speak to me to have your ways , guide me to love your ways.

At a camp meeting 40 years later, I happened to see Dr. I. demonstrating some kind of health product, if I remember correctly. (In my mind, I see only the image of him, much older, but still looking much like he did when I was a student, with a friend by my side.) I lingered a little but did not introduce myself. I briefly wondered whether he recognized me. I’m fairly sure that I was as recognizable to him as he was to me.

Had he changed? Or did he still feel superior in his “humility”? Should I talk to him? I didn’t know how to approach him, and was busy with friends. I still don’t know whether I should have said something. (Maybe I’m just a coward.)

If God wants him to see my story, his and my identity are clear enough in this post, that God can direct him to it.
