Sleeping in While Jesus Knocks at the Door — 2 Comments

  1. Thank you brother William,
You have reminded me of my friend at college,,he would tell me that his bed is in the SDA church, if he wants to sleep, he must sleep in church such that if he is to wake up, he should wake up and find himself in church,,,Iam wondering whether his motive was right

  2. Hi, William

(Revelation 3 : 20) states:’Behold, I stand at the door & knock. If any one hears my voice & opens the door, I will come in to him, eat with him, & he with me.’

This is the explanation in brief about the meaning of ‘door’ & ‘ eating together’ _:

    A) The door.

This imagery represents the “door” of an individual’s heart,
    (mind ).

(Jeremiah 17:9) states :’ The Lord search the heart & examine the mind .”

‘ To renew the inward mind day by day.'(2 Corinth. 4:16 ) As,

‘We need the mind of Christ .’ (1 Corinth. 2 :16)

‘The mind which will not corrupt.'(1Peter 3: 3,4) And,

‘ We may not fall into temptation (Matthew 26 : 41)

    And,
‘We will not lean on our own understanding.’ (Proverbs. 3: 5)

‘But will remain clean through the word.’ (John 15 : 3 )

‘Laying apart all filthiness & superfluity of naughtiness.’
    ( James 1: 21)

‘And will stay on God.’ (Isa. 26 : 3)

&’ Will not be unstable in all ways.’ ( James 1: 8)

    But

‘Will be on the things which are true ,honest, just, pure, lovely, of good report of any virtue, & of any praise ; thanking God, in everything.’ (Philippians. 4 : 6, 8)

`The mind, whose meditation will be acceptable in God’s sight. ‘
    (Psalm 19 :14)

    ‘ The mind which will love God.(Matthew . 22 : 37) And,

‘Will be alert & sober, as the enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion.’ (1Peter 5 : 8)

Jesus can renew our mind by transforming it. ‘( Romans 12 : 2)

And, can make the body a temple of the Holy Spirit.'( 1Corinth 6: 19)

‘ To remain in the fear of God. ‘(2 Corinthians 7:1)

    B) The meal Is a symbol of
    fellowship.

Jesus says to us : “Abide in me, & I in you.” ( John 15 :4-7)

He prayed to God also:’I in them & you in me.’ (John 17: 23)

So that we can be purified & become holy.

God said, ‘Be holy as l am
    holy.’ (1 Peter 1:16)

    And,

    To keep His commandments.

(1 John 3 : 24) states :’Whoever keeps His commandments abides in God & God in him. By this we know that He abides in us, by the Spirit whom He has given us.’

( 2 John 1: 9) states :‘He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, hath both The Father & The Son. ‘

(1John 1: 3) says: ‘lndeed our fellowship is with The Father & with His Son Jesus Christ.’
