Spectacles on Bible

Further Thought: Read Ellen G. White, “The Flood,” pages 90-104 and “After the Flood,” pages 105-110, in Patriarchs and Prophets. “The rainbow, a natural physical phenomenon, was a fitting symbol of God’s promise never to destroy the earth again by a flood. Inasmuch as the climatic conditions of the earth would be completely different after the Flood, and rains … Continue reading –>

The Law Maker and Promise Maker

Sabbath School Net Posted on April 14, 2021 by William EarnhardtApril 23, 2021avatar

Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill. For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. Whosoever therefore shall break one … Continue reading –>

Noah's Thankfulness

“And God said, ‘This is the sign of the covenant which I make between me and you and every living creature that is with you, for all future generations: I set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be a sign of the covenant between me and the earth” (Gen: 9:12-13, RSV). Tuesday: Covenant with Noah

Sabbath School Net Posted on April 12, 2021 by Sabbath School LessonApril 1, 2021avatar
God Speaks to Noah

“But I will establish my covenant with you; and you shall come into the ark, you, your sons, your wife, and your sons’ wives with you.” (Gen: 6:18, RSV). In this one verse we have the basics of the biblical covenant that God makes with humanity: God and humankind enter into an agreement. Very simple. Yet, … Continue reading –>

God's Hand Saving Man

Genesis 6:9 Amid all the texts about the evil of the antediluvian (pre-Flood) world, the man Noah stands out in contrast to those around him. Look at the above text, at the three particular points that the Bible mentions about him. To the best of your ability, write down what you think each of these … Continue reading –>

3: All Future Generations – Singing with Inspiration

Sabbath School Net Posted on April 10, 2021 by Corinne KnopperApril 10, 2021avatar

This quarter “The Week at a Glance” shows God’s covenant is spoken of mostly. God has made his promises (covenant) with many people in the Bible, and continues to give us promises for today, hence for a theme hymn I find that I wish to keep standing on the Promises that God has given to … Continue reading –>

At a camp meeting 40 years later, I happened to see Dr. I. demonstrating some kind of health product, if I remember correctly. (In my mind, I see only the image of him, much older, but still looking much like he did when I was a student, with a friend by my side.) I lingered a little but did not introduce myself. I briefly wondered whether he recognized me. I’m fairly sure that I was as recognizable to him as he was to me.

Had he changed? Or did he still feel superior in his “humility”? Should I talk to him? I didn’t know how to approach him, and was busy with friends. I still don’t know whether I should have said something. (Maybe I’m just a coward.)

If God wants him to see my story, his and my identity are clear enough in this post, that God can direct him to it.
