[Though questions for The Blessings of the Righteous January 27, 1015] 1. Introduction. A whole three months on the book of Proverbs? Plenty of advice awaits us on this journey. I apologize for being gone for so many months. First I ended up in the hospital and then rehab with a bad hip fracture, then my … Continue reading –>

I don’t know about where you live, but where I live it seems like a lot of people are feeling pretty hopeless about their futures. Everywhere they look bad things are happening, and they don’t feel like they have any control over their own lives and their own futures. According to Tara Parker-Pope of the … Continue reading –>

The Vision of Hope for Laodicea

Sabbath School Net Posted on June 10, 2013 by William EarnhardtJune 19, 2013avatar

In the late fall of 2006 I bought a brand new car. A few days later, or nights actually, I lay in my bed wide awake. I glanced at the clock as it read 4 AM. Then the idea hit me. If I jump in my brand-new car right now, I can travel across Florida … Continue reading –>

“For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea.” Habakkuk 2:14 NASB [Thought Questions for Trusting God’s Goodness May 22, 2013] 1. Filled with God’s knowledge. Remember reading a few weeks ago about the time in the future when people will be gnashing … Continue reading –>

The Resurrected Christ

“The day of resurrection –” John Wesley sang, “Earth, tell it out abroad! The passover of gladness, The passover of God!” But that brings us no closer. What does that mean? The answer lies far, far away. Go back in time. Back a hundred generations, to the margin of the Roman Empire, in a little … Continue reading –>

Till We Meet Again

Sabbath School Net Posted on August 22, 2012 by Lillianne LopezJuly 18, 2013avatar

I recently met a woman whose husband died suddenly and tragically less than a year ago. They had been together over forty years and had been high school sweethearts. She has the most amazing attitude. Yes she misses him terribly, but she knows that she will see her husband again. In fact, they had promised … Continue reading –>

At a camp meeting 40 years later, I happened to see Dr. I. demonstrating some kind of health product, if I remember correctly. (In my mind, I see only the image of him, much older, but still looking much like he did when I was a student, with a friend by my side.) I lingered a little but did not introduce myself. I briefly wondered whether he recognized me. I’m fairly sure that I was as recognizable to him as he was to me.

Had he changed? Or did he still feel superior in his “humility”? Should I talk to him? I didn’t know how to approach him, and was busy with friends. I still don’t know whether I should have said something. (Maybe I’m just a coward.)

If God wants him to see my story, his and my identity are clear enough in this post, that God can direct him to it.
