The Role of Stewardship – Teaching Plan
Key Thought: Stewardship calls us to bring all things under Christ’s Lordship. We are to become stewards of all of God’s counsel.
1. Have a volunteer read Hebrews 4:14-16.

a. Ask class members to share a thought on what the most important point in this text is.
b. What do these texts tell us about Jesus’ ministry in the sanctuary?
c. Personal Application : How do we find strength and hope in our struggle with sin, self, and selfishness in Christ’s work in the sanctuary? Share your thoughts.
d. Case Study : One of your relatives states: “What does it mean to come boldly unto the throne of grace to obtain mercy? We aren’t supposed to be presumptuous or arrogant or self-justified. So what does coming boldly mean?” How would you respond to your relative?
2. Have a volunteer read Revelation 14:6-12.
a. Ask class members to share a short thought on what the most important point is in this passage.
b. Why does the everlasting gospel have Babylon and the mark of the beast included in it?
c. Personal Application: Why is it important to keep all doctrine and teachings rooted and focused on Jesus Christ? Share your thoughts.
d. Case Study : One of your friends states, “What does stewardship have to do with the three angel’s messages? The pastors and evangelists are supposed to share them..” How would you respond to your friend?
3. Have a volunteer read I Peter 1:15,16.
a. Ask class members to share a short thought on what the main idea of this text is.
b. Is there a relationship between Biblical doctrine and the sanctification process?
c. Personal Application: Look at your daily life. What conscious choices do you need to make in order to see God’s holiness revealed in you? Share your thoughts.
d. Case Study: One of your neighbors states, “I thought only God is holy. How are we who are sinful human beings supposed to be holy? Isn’t that an impossible requirement?” How would you respond to your neighbor?
4. Have a volunteer read Colossians 1:16-18.
a. Ask class members to share a short thought on what the main idea of this text is.
b. What do these verse tell us about how central Jesus is to everything about us?
c. Personal Application: How can be sure Jesus is living in us as He promised? Are we living as if He is? Share your thoughts.
d. Case Study : Think of one person who needs to hear a message from this week’s lesson. Tell the class what you plan to do this week to share with them.
