The Value of Intercessory Prayer — 8 Comments

  1. I have a question. Is Satan responsible for things that disappear for no reason? I happen to think that I have seen it myself.

  2. Thank you William for the reminder that intercessory prayer is so effective. I know that my parents prayed for me for me many years and that the Holy Spirit moved my heart to respond to the call to come back to him.
I now pray for all my children and my grand children and have done for several years - I also pray for patience and that I will see the positive result of my prayers. May God bless you and may you continue to present your valuable thoughts and encouragement to others.

  3. Intercessory prayer is a prayer of true love. This is exactly what Jesus did for us while we were all yet sinners. He who intercedes in prayer for others has true love in him.if you don't have love enough to intercede You have not the love of God in you but the love of men...

  4. Daniel’s intercessory prayer reveals humbleness as he also includes himself in the prayer. He had deadly love for the people and wanted to be sure that everyone was forgiven. And he actually seems like putting pressure on God to feel for his people as he says, “for your name’s sake, for your people who are called by your name”. Daniel was Christ like to identify with sinners and appealed for forgiveness even though he had not sinned

  5. Knowing that God is interceding for us should make it easier for us to intercede for each other. Without the intercession of Jesus we would not stand a chance on the heavenly courtroom. We need to realize it is Gods ministry of intercession that allows us to even come into the presence of almighty God.

  6. How unfortunate. The answer to my question was never answered as I had hoped. I could have elaborated more if it would help.

    • Hi Paul, some more detail might be a good idea. However, here is something we need to think about too:

In the past, we have often blamed either God, or Satan for things we cannot explain by natural causes. As our knowledge has grown, we have been able to explain many of these things through natural explanations. Such a pathway has led many to throw away God (and Satan) as no longer necessary.

I believe that God is not only God of the supernatural but of the natural as well and he often works through natural means to influence us. Likewise, Satan uses natural events too to achieve his own ends. One argument that I do not buy into is that supernatural satanic events prove the existance of God. The only argument that really has any validity is that we live our lives consistent with God's will in a way that is both an example and an attraction of love to others. That is a miracle in itself.
