Two Mysteries in Scripture: Iniquity and Godliness — 2 Comments

  1. Indeed! These are the two greatest mysteries to mankind that no finite mind will ever be able to fully understand. Anyone who thinks so is just fooling themselves. I try not to argue with those that think we can understand the mysteries of God, especially the Godhead. Romans 11:33-36 and Isa. 55:8-9 come to mind. Christ in you the hope of glory is another sublime truth. Hard to wrap our minds around it.

  2. I loved studying this particular lesson. And as I contemplated the mysteries an old hymn came to mind. It’s a favorite of mine – “The Love of God”. Truly a mystery.

1 The love of God is greater far than tongue or pen can ever tell; it goes beyond the highest star, and reaches to the lowest hell; the guilty pair, bowed down with care, God gave His Son to win; His erring child He reconciled, and pardoned from his sin.
    Refrain:
O love of God, how rich and pure! How measureless and strong! It shall forevermore endure: the saints’ and angels’ song!
2 When years of time shall pass away and earthly thrones and kingdoms fall,
when men who here refuse to pray, on rocks and hills and mountains call,
God’s love so pure shall still endure, all measureless and strong; redeeming grace to Adam’s race—the saints’ and angels’ song. [Refrain]
3 Could we with ink the ocean fill and were the skies of parchment made,
were ev’ry stalk on earth a quill and ev’ry man a scribe by trade, to write the love of God above would drain the ocean dry; nor could the scroll contain the whole, tho’ stretched from sky to sky. [Refrain]

    Yes,
