Wednesday: God’s Initiative to Save Us
The Bible shows that after the Fall of our first parents, it was God who came looking for them, not vice versa. On the contrary, the man and woman tried to hide themselves from the presence of the Lord. What a powerful metaphor for so much of the fallen human race:
they flee the One who comes looking for them, the only One who could save them. Adam and Eve did it in Eden, and unless surrendered to the wooing of the Holy Spirit, people are still doing the same thing today.
Fortunately, God did not cast aside our first parents, nor does He cast us aside either. From the time that God first called out Where are you?
to Adam and Eve in Eden (Gen. 3:9, NKJV) until today, He is still calling us.
In the matchless gift of His Son, God has encircled the whole world with an atmosphere of grace as real as the air which circulates around the globe. All who choose to breathe this life-giving atmosphere will live and grow up to the stature of men and women in Christ Jesus.
–Ellen G. White, Steps to Christ, p. 68.
Of course, the greatest revelation of God’s missionary activity can be seen in the incarnation and ministry of Jesus. Though Jesus came to this earth to do many things-to destroy Satan, to reveal the true character of the Father, to prove Satan’s accusations wrong, to show that God’s law can be kept-the crucial reason was to die on the cross in the place of humanity, in order to save us from the ultimate result of sin, which is eternal death.
What do each of these texts teach us about the death of Jesus?
God made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us
(NKJV). That is what it took in order for us to be made the righteousness of God in Him
(NKJV). This idea has been called the great exchange,
Jesus taking on our sins and suffering as a sinner so that we, though sinners, can be counted as righteous before God as Jesus Himself.
There is nothing more enlightening to a sinner is to be shown Jesus started searching for any person even before born at Calvary more than 2,000 years ago, died for human sake to be saved and reconciled with God. The Everlasting Gospel and our Commission based on it is in fact simply put as "God reconciling us on the cross before we were even born. Uplifting Christ on Calvary as our Judgment being taken care once and for all is the core of our message. When I renounced Animism and Secret Society Cosmic Powers I searched and studied Jehovah's Witness Revelation studies and Latter saints and AOG but i was not convinced but as soon as I attended SDA evangelistic meetings in the first night uplifting Christ's death on my behalf, made me decide there and then that this was the God I love to know more and on the night of Judgment topic I was humbly convicted that this the Jesus as Savior, Lawyer and Judge who was working for me and on my behalf was the ultimate answer and solution. And I have been using that in my studies and it has worked miraculously on students that is "God searching us" is a message known as the Everlasting Gospel simplified as God searching for mankind even before being born, already available to be your Savior, Lawyer and Judge. He/Christ is Love Unconditional at its verity will make sinners, heathens and atheist to love Christ and commit to Him.
To God be the glory...keep on studying the word of God.,searching, and praying..the HOLY spirit is working on you.keep looking to Jesus and share his love to everyone.
The God's Word Can Be Preached Anywhere Once You Can Communicate.
Running away from something has always seemed to a solution soon after sinning, but the fact is, wherever we run, there is no life, love or remedy, so its either we will perish there or come back again with our sin to Him who loved us and gave His life as ransom.
Am happy to know that when God says his love is everlasting, sure it is, for in his love He searched for us when we sought him not , he first loved us. This form of love is what constrains us to look for others and to welcome them back into the lords fold as missionaries of the everlasting Gospel.
Lord Jesus thank you so so much that you died in my stead
Deep down in the gutter of despair, among the outcasts, womanizers, whore mongers, Christ came searching, refusing to stop calling to His lost sheep, refusing to stop calling me. He chose His disciples from among the fishermen, from among those that society despised, men of ill repute. People spoke of how He preached and taught, but communicated and dwelt among those that the members of the church would not associate with.
But praise God from whom all blessings flow......The harlot recognized His loving, pleading voice filled with grace and mercy, she opened her heart to a Man who wanted nothing from her but to save her from eternal death and destruction. The murderer, weapon dripping with the blood of the murdered, was filled with remorse and dropped the dagger to hold fast to the Hand pierced for him. Jesus, the sinless, became sin and offered Himself on the cross for my sins, and while I struggle with the problems of this world, a sinless God offers me grace, offers me mercy, but the church won't allow me to be a sinner saved by grace. I for one am so very thankful for the mission of Jesus... were it not for grace...were it not for the mission of Christ... where would I be today? Thank you Father, for your mercy, for your grace. May we be reminded that while the 99 lay sheltered, there is that 1 awful sinner needing grace.
Indeed it bring so much Joy that Christ died for the sake of us , 2Cor 5:17. Praises to Jesus Christ our Lord and King.
I thank God for His grace and mercy in reconciling us unto Himself even when we didn't know we needed a Savior. I thank Him too that even today when we are running around in circles, confused, lonely, lost, guilty and ashamed, He comes looking for us and ever so gently calls to us! I am so glad He keeps calling to me and reminding that I am His own!! Hallelujah!!
I glorify You, the Son of God, died on the cross for our sins and ethenal lives.
Praise the Lord, Again I thank God for the matchless gift of His Son to save us.
Help and show me that I wish to live in the presence of the Lord.
What an amazing God, because of who He is, because of His character, because He loves us, because of His world view, because of His wisdom and because of His divine power we are drawn to Him and want to be with Him and to be like Him!
To me the one thing we need to keep in mind is the idea that it is still God's initiative. Man can't start the salvation process because in sin he rejects God, therefore, only God can.
Even when God starts the process we seemingly do nothing more than what Jesus said in one of his parables, "The kingdom of God is as if a man should scatter seed on the ground, and should sleep by night and rise by day, and the seed should sprout and grow, he himself does not know how. for the earth yields crops by itself: first the blade, then the head, after that the full grain in the head" (Mk 4:26)
Praise the Lord, Bro Tyler! HE is the Author and Finisher of our faith. We are kept holy and blameless by the power of God.
Dear bro Ezra. May His name be praised personaly touched by the redemption story. ive been in constant run from the TRUTH (God) and this has caused continual pain and at times feeling of rejection but trully His love is all i need to stay at Jesus feet
