Anna Likholet

God Is the Best Witness By Anna Likholet At the age of 18, I longed to share Jesus with others. But I was afraid. “I’m scared,” I prayed often. “I don’t know how to share You.” Then I learned that I needed surgery, and I was hospitalized in Tula, a city located about 2 ½ … Continue reading –>

Friday: Further Thought ~ Jesus Opens the Way Through the Veil

Spectacles on Bible

Further Thought: “Christ’s ascension to heaven was the signal that His followers were to receive the promised blessing. For this they were to wait before they entered upon their work. When Christ passed within the heavenly gates, He was enthroned amidst the adoration of the angels. As soon as this ceremony was completed, the Holy … Continue reading –>

Jesus Heals a Handicapped Lady

Read Hebrews 12:22-24. In what sense have we arrived at heavenly Jerusalem into the presence of God? It is argued that believers “have come” to Mount Zion, the heavenly Jerusalem, through faith. In this sense, their experience anticipates the future. Thus, the heavenly Jerusalem belongs to the realm of the things “hoped for” and “not seen” … Continue reading –>

Wednesday: The New and Living Way Through the Veil

Sabbath School Net Posted on March 1, 2022 by Sabbath School LessonFebruary 18, 2022avatar
Through the Veil

Read Hebrews 10:19-22. What invitation do we have in this passage? The book of Hebrews argues that Jesus has entered into the heavenly sanctuary and invites us to follow His lead. This idea agrees with the conception introduced before that Jesus is the “captain” and forerunner of believers (Hebrews 2:10; Hebrews 6:19-20; Hebrews 12:2). The “new and living way” … Continue reading –>

10: Jesus Opens The Way Through the Veil – Teaching Plan

Sabbath School Net Posted on February 28, 2022 by Michael FrackerFebruary 28, 2022Michael Fracker

Key Thought: The ascention of Jesus to heaven is central to the theology of the Hebrews. It marks the beginning of Jesus’ High Priestly ministry on our behalf. March 5, 2022 1. Have a volunteer read Leviticus 16:1,2 Leviticus 10:1-3. Ask class members to share a short thought on what the most important point is … Continue reading –>

Tuesday: The Need of a Veil

Sabbath School Net Posted on February 28, 2022 by Sabbath School LessonFebruary 17, 2022avatar
Rending of the Veil

Veils have a double function. The term Hebrews uses for veil (katepetasma) could refer to the screen of the court (Exodus 38:18), the screen at the entrance of the outer apartment of the sanctuary (Exodus 36:37), or the inner veil that separated the Holy Place from the Holy of Holies (Exodus 26:31-35). These three veils were both entrances … Continue reading –>

10: Jesus Opens the Way Through the Veil – Singing With Inspiration

Sabbath School Net Posted on February 27, 2022 by Corinne KnopperFebruary 27, 2022avatar

The titles of the thirteen Sabbaths of study this quarter give us two hymns to use as the themes: Hymn 593 – In Times Like These and Hymn 177 – Jesus, Your Blood and Righteousness. On Sabbath afternoon, the book of Hebrews tells us of “the ascension of Jesus to heaven” and this is sung in: Hymn … Continue reading –>

Israel Assembled at Mt Sinai

Read Hebrews 12:18-21. What was the experience of Israel at Mount Sinai? When God called Israel from Egypt, His plan was to create a personal, intimate relationship with them. He said, “You have seen what I did to the Egyptians, and how I bore you on eagles’ wings and brought you to Myself” (Exodus 19:3-4, NKJV). Thus, … Continue reading –>

At a camp meeting 40 years later, I happened to see Dr. I. demonstrating some kind of health product, if I remember correctly. (In my mind, I see only the image of him, much older, but still looking much like he did when I was a student, with a friend by my side.) I lingered a little but did not introduce myself. I briefly wondered whether he recognized me. I’m fairly sure that I was as recognizable to him as he was to me.

Had he changed? Or did he still feel superior in his “humility”? Should I talk to him? I didn’t know how to approach him, and was busy with friends. I still don’t know whether I should have said something. (Maybe I’m just a coward.)

If God wants him to see my story, his and my identity are clear enough in this post, that God can direct him to it.
