Job's Suffering and the Discouragement of Three Friends

The Big Questions. [Lesson #6 November 5, 2016] Now as we listen to Eliphaz, how does the story of Job broaden? The Curse Causeless? – Hit the Mark

Sabbath School Net Posted on November 2, 2016 by Curtis HallNovember 8, 2016avatar
A woman uses an umbrella to protect from negative thoughts.

Words matter. That’s the takeaway I received for this week’s lesson on The Curse Causeless. This week our attention is on the words of Job’s friend Eliphaz. He was one of the three, who in their concern and respect for Job, came to see him after his life was turned upside down. I imagine it … Continue reading –>

Earnest Prayer

What has God clearly revealed in this world about Himself? [Lesson 4 – October 22, 2016] Perhaps there’s been a bad forest fire close to where you live. Sabbath School Net Posted on October 10, 2016 by Joyce GriffithOctober 16, 2016Joyce Griffith

God’s Servant Job. [Lesson 5, Oct 15, 2016 ] It is true, is it not, that all of God’s children are blessed by God. Shouldn’t our state of being blessed lead us to a sense of thanksgiving? At a camp meeting 40 years later, I happened to see Dr. I. demonstrating some kind of health product, if I remember correctly. (In my mind, I see only the image of him, much older, but still looking much like he did when I was a student, with a friend by my side.) I lingered a little but did not introduce myself. I briefly wondered whether he recognized me. I’m fairly sure that I was as recognizable to him as he was to me.

Had he changed? Or did he still feel superior in his “humility”? Should I talk to him? I didn’t know how to approach him, and was busy with friends. I still don’t know whether I should have said something. (Maybe I’m just a coward.)

If God wants him to see my story, his and my identity are clear enough in this post, that God can direct him to it.
