  1. Such a real need at this time. We need the faith and willingness of the young Isaiah when God wondered "Who shall I send?"

  2. Your message here hits me real hard. I have been so discouraged lately because I see everything you said is happening in almost every church I go to. I see how just about everyone doing his/her part in church is only going through the motion. Thank you very much.

  5. Im really encouraged by this to look at the mission God has given to us , no matter what He send us places to better ourselves and help others , He knows we that experience to sharpen our lives while carrying His message of Love to others

  6. Great thoughts Mr. Earnhardt! It is so easy to complain about the "apostasy" in our churches and go form another group or seek another place of worship. However, maybe would should cooperate with God to do all we can to lovingly implement "education instead of condemnation," as said by Brother D. Lemon and others, within our congregations.

  9. All I can say is allow ourself to be use by God. Don't just live for ourself. We should bear in mind that there are souls to reap for the kingdom of God. Whenever we have crusades or evangelistic meetings we should invite everyone we come in contact with to join whether it be online or physically. We can also transport person to these meetings. God has blessed us so let us all cheer the word if the Lord by all possible means

  10. Thanks so much Bro Earnhardt. Rain in due season. My wife and I have been thinking about leaving the church because we are unable to deal with all the church politics and games, but we now see our mission. Need your prayers for wisdom and patience and Love.

  11. To God be the Glory for the powerful witnessing testimonies you are sharing with us. I needed to hear this just when I was asking myself, "What am I doing here?" Now I should say, "That's why I'm here" as long as it's not a situation similar to Elijah hiding in the cave and the Lord asks, "What doest thou here?"

  12. I went through an experience like those mentioned. I was sent to look after a newly formed branch with basically no resources, no experience at all. It was really tough. But thanks to God. He was there to guide, empower, teach. But I would still get discouraged though due to many challenges I faced. There was a lot of pressure from main church to close up and forget. One day I heard a song called little is much when God is in it...........it gave such an encouragement. I believe somehow God wanted me to realize He was with me and my newly found brothers and sisters in Christ. Soon we are going to be officially orgsnised as a church. So lets keep on pressing on. Our Master is Jesus christ our Lord. He is faithful.

    • Ruth,
Thank you for sharing your choice to listen to and wait on the power of the Holy Spirit, Who is the greatest possible "resources" that we need. Congratulations certainly deserved for possessing the inner strength to resist temptation initiated by the 'brethren', even as you kept on praying and seeking the guidance of the One Who sent you in the first place. May our Father in Heaven continue to bless your ministry, and the Church as it is about to move to the status of congregational membership. Your story will continue to be one of valued encouragement to them in their journey and mission endeavors.
      God bless.

    • Thanks for the comment of which many have made about the pastor's daughter but we need to pray for our pastor's today and pray for the daughter to come back to him and God

  13. Elder William, Thank you for reminding us of that a lot of our churches are undernourished, deprived of interest and disconnected from power. How will you minister to someone whose life is described in the following narrative?

"For before God he grew up like a young plant, like a root out of dry ground. He was not well-formed or especially handsome; we saw him, but his appearance did not attract us.
3 People despised and avoided him, a man of pains, well acquainted with illness. Like someone from whom people turn their faces, he was despised; we did not value him".

  14. "For such a time as this" .... A very timely message indeed. Seems we all can relate! The complacency of some and the despondency of others is quite obvious, but let us not lose sight of the fact that God needs us and all his "biddings are enabling" Focus not on how the field looks but the work that is needs to be done. Even Rahab the harlot saw what needed to be done, played her part quite well and thus was able to be counted as one who helped to conquer the city and save her household as well. May we see the urgency of the times and go forward in God's strength, redeeming the time, knowing full well that he "is ABLE who has promised" and he'll be with us until the end. He who started the good work WILL finish it...Amen!!

  16. Walter, I praise the Lord with you, and know that there is joy in Heaven over your return home. Please have a sit down conversation with you Pastor. Trust the Holy Spirit to guide you and your Pastor in making the decision regarding baptism. God has accepted you home as the returning prodigal. The House of Faith has embraced you in your return. There is an element of doubt in your mind and heart, and with good reason, both in relation to your walk with Jesus as well as your returning to the House of Faith. A conversation with your Pastor can initiate a period of bonding, joy and encouragement to the Church as a whole, maybe even to a young (or older) person who is struggling. May our Father truly bless you as you listen to the voice of the Holy Spirit in His Word, and in your listening heart. Psalm 90:1, Psalm 91:1

  17. Thank you for that empowering story, the moral is real to me. At times our fields are discouraging to such an extent that even I myself feel so downcast and not motivated to even think deeply about what God can do. If we all go to the parched areas soon the world will be a green field waiting for the Saviour Jesus Christ.

  18. Thank you for your practical lesson William. I am an assistant youth leader in my church (the church has around 100 members) and there are times I feel like giving up. Arguments and disagreements from the youths sometimes discourage me but my prayer is to remain steadfast in prayer for Wisdom to lead the young people. I believe "That's why I am there".

  19. Your message has made me remember how pastors one after the other complained about how spiritually parched the people of my home region in Ghana, West Africa are.I'm an elder and we do our best to help them in their work. But more often than not, you hear them complained bitterly about the people and wished they were sent to other fields (other parts of the country). The amazing fact is that, all these ministers hail from that region.

But as an elder, the lesson I've learnt from your story is that, God will not send anyone on a mission errand to where his/her services are not deeded.
Thank you so much and may God bless you.

    • Brother Wisdom,
You testified: "I'm an Elder and we do our best to help them in their work." If you have not heard it recently, or not heard it said, gratitude ought to be often expressed for the dedicated and hard working volunteer leadership of our Elders. I see it around me regularly, but prefer to reference my father serving as first elder of our home church for a remarkable 33 years. There were times the Pastor did not show up for months, once for over a year, trusting my father to carry the full weight of leadership. The re-elected Church Elder in 2015 resigned after 3 weeks. The Church refused to consider a second name, so my sister is Church Elder. I marvel at the work you Church Elders do. Thank God for you and your commitment, Brother Wisdom.

Would you please consider two issues regarding your Pastors, who usually are from your Region: 1)John 4:44 NKJV "For Jesus Himself testified that a prophet has no honor in his own country." There are occasional exceptions for a quite remarkable talented young man. But who could be more remarkable and talented than Jesus Christ Himself? He did not do many miracles in Nazareth because of the unbelief of the Brethren, including His own brothers. Consider that Jesus Christ is observing what is around Him, and responding from within. If Jesus Christ, the Messiah and perfect in all His ways, departed and went to Galilee, what do you think might be happening in the minds and hearts of Pastors who are still battling with human natures, self and others? Don't you think that our Conference Leaders ought to give more consideration to the Words of Jesus Christ Himself?
      2) Your Pastors of the Region grew up in those Churches. As young men, they had common concerns and common feelings regarding what was happening around them and inside them. What did they miss that they are still sensitive too, though there are other areas of strength? I do not believe it is a complaint about the work of our Elders. Your Pastors are responding based on their history, and how it is still expressed.

My hope is that our Pastors and Elders (and other leaders) sense the need to have times of deep study and prayer together, as a prelude for in-depth conversation. There needs to be the open-ness, given only by the Holy Spirit, to speak honestly and freely, and to listen carefully without taking issues personally and defensively. All are invested in doing God's Work for the Love of God, so why not have a time of conversation. It might take several days. Workers meeting when all the Pastors are together is a time to bring in the Elders for at least a day. May the Holy Spirit guide.

God bless as you as people of God make these concerns a matter of diligent seeking after God.
