Singing with Inspiration – Lesson 8: The Impact of Tithing — 3 Comments

  1. Corinne you are a musical person after my heart. I have been involved in vocal arrangements, quartet and coral, and play the saxophone and organ. Music has been foremost in most of my life. I am on a slow road to recovering from a TBI from a fall that struck the back of my head. I have lost most of the musical abilities. In trying to sing in my living room a song that was going through my mind. I couldn't remember and started looking through my hymnal. I finally found. Tis so sweet to trust in Jesus. Sorry to take up your space Corinne. God bless.

  2. Hi Paul
If I could put a big smiley face up to you on this chat, I would 🙂
Oh, dear. A TBI is not something to trifle with, but I am so glad you could still look up a hymn. What a marvelous hymn to think of! Yes, it is so sweet to trust in Jesus. What a precious promise is this one.

Oh, dear, no. You are not taking up space at all.

May I keep encouraging you to commence with singing. I want to sing in a choir in Heaven with you!!

I used to play trumpet/cornet but had a vocal "blow-out" that only one other brass band person had in Australia. That ended my playing as I was left with no voice to speak with, until the speech therapist asked me to sing!!! What a laugh I had. I couldn't speak, so how could I sing? Well, God had plans.

Here was I in Australia's top brass band. I could not longer play, or I could play and never speak again. I sang two notes as per the speech therapists request. It was loud, clear - - - and it was BASS!!! Real bass. C below middle C on the piano, and lower!! I started singing lessons and in 18 months commenced a singing degree. Who said that God could not take a bad thing and turn it into something amazing? I sang with Avondale Singers in the Sydney Opera House. Did God do something? Yes, certainly, He did.

Keep going Paul. I would love to know what God has in store for you and where He wants you to be!! Don't you give up your love of music. I want to be in the choir/orchestra in Heaven with you if we don't get the chance to meet on this old earth.

    Blessings
    Corinne

    • Wow Corinne, that is a truly an amazing story. You and I have a mutual appreciation. I used to sing bass for the quartet. C below middle C I struggle to hit. I have wondered about singing in Heaven. It seems like I heard that Angels can each sing multiple voices. We can appreciate each other from a considerable distance now. God be with you.
